That impressive for Sumlin. But part of the inflation is the lack of real non-conference games.

Say what you will about Fran, but his teams played the some of the most brutal nonconference schedules in program history. He was still terrible, but he'd have a few more wins if he got to play Lamar.

How many of Sumlin's losses were to teams that were ranked in the Top 10?

12 of the 26 came against true cupcakes. No A&M coach has played that many cupcakes in 3 seasons.

4-9 against the top 25. Its not bad for a program like ours, honestly. Even if he finishes this year at 4-11 or 4-12 against the top 25, its still not THAT bad.

Our expectations have skyrocketed based on nothing. I think if we stopped trashtalking our coworkers, half of texags problems would go away.

Slocum inherited some incredible talent from Sherrill. When Slocum's rosters consisted 100% of his own signees, then things started to slip. What's worse, we never fielded a great defense again after Slocum's signing class that included Brian Gamble as the lone defensive signee in it. Slocum, credited for so much of Wrecking Crew lore, also saw to the end of it.

A better metric is number of SEC games played. I'm counting 16 first two years and 5 thus far this year for a total of 21. (I think that's correct.) All 9 losses are against SEC teams.

Out of 21 games lost 9 in the SEC.

Bielema is 0-13 thus far in two years, with four additional SEC losses from "Smiley" the Clown Smith the year before.

Its 13-9 against the SEC aggiehawg. I'd call that decent and average for a program like ours.

And he did that without Johnny.

Vs Cupcakes means any of those coaches would likely have won those games, & I can remember several games where Johnny made the difference . Sumlins record would be pretty suspect had he not been gifted JFF.

6 wins this year without Johnny, but 4 of those were against Rice, Smu, Lamar, & ULM, so I concede that he won 2 competitive games, but any HS Coach could've won those other 4.

What was the record of the team in the year that those coaches were fired by A&M?

Why are we comparing to past Aggie coaches? None of them have done anything and were all fired!

La Tech lost twice in conference USA and didn't even go to a bowl. Cowbell was a 5 loss team. Neither was a good team. They were ranked when we played them, but that means nothing. They weren't ranked at the end of the regular season; and that's the only thing that counts.

Please get over the Johnny stuff. Everybody that wins has good players. How hard is that to figure out?

True Ashley, but not all winners have a guy who can single handedly make the difference, & is obviously the best player on the field every time he steps on it. Johnny was THAT guy...
