We are supposedly a Spread/Air Raid offence yet...

we run what seems like the same 5-6 plays EVERY GAME! and almost never actually spread the field...

it is just me or does it seem like we only have a receiver more then 10 yards down field once every 5-6 plays as well. and almost EVERY single first down we run the ball or do a behind the line of scrimmage pass... and get NOTHING, yet we go and to it again the next first down... I remember back in 2013, and 2014 we'd have a receiver running a fade almost every other passing drive just to give johnny that option, and we actually would spread the field with the other receivers! oh and we have had ZERO tempo these past few weeks...

like Tim Tebow said, the spread offense opens up the running game, and right now we aren't spreading so the defense has no problem predicting and stopping our run and behind the line passing because its so dang PREDICTABLE.

why did we stop doing what made us a killer offense?

we definitely look very predictable. you can tell when we're gonna run or pass and if we pass its less than 10 yards deep. fill the box and make Kenny throw deep knowing its 75/25 odds that he misses the target. This team is too easy to defend now that DC's have found our weakness. ( no JFF)

We can't stretch the field or run the ball... air raid is a catastrophic failure if you can't do those things

On Saturday, it seemed like we had more of a spread kind of defense...

To stop our offense, all a DC has to do is tell his D.

1) Don't worry about the deep ball
2) Don't worry about passes over the middle
3) Focus on the bubble screen
4) If there is a play action, don't worry about the QB running
5) Have the DBs watch out for that Diamond formation. 3 WRs will kick one of their asses.

The problem is, Kenny can't consistently make the throws to spread the field, so pretty much every play currently in the playbook has then entire team within 15 yards of the LOS. This means defenses can scrunch up to easily cover all of the receivers as well as the run game.

FIFY. Doesn't matter what offense we run, if they play like they did against Bama. Players were getting destroyed damn play.
