They showed several replays of it on TV. He raised his leg up twice so it was a good call. That penalty cost them 75 yards. Nuts.

He was holding all game long. Unathletic sasquatch.

Skipper is a HUGE boy; last year when we played them in Fayettville, we stayed at the same hotel the Arkansas team did. I got on the elevator once and he walked on right after me. Nice guy. I'm a big guy myself and he towered over me; Big time. Saw his parents later that evening with him in the hotel lobby area. His mother must be all of 6'3" and his dad about 6'5" or so. Big Mama & Big Daddy.

Very nice kid who also got D-1 offers in baseball as a 1st baseman.

Ironic that 9 times out of 10 that penalty doesn't get called 20 yards away from the play yet an obvious motion penalty goes uncalled against the aggies in OT.....better to be lucky than good right!!

if Ags get 5 yd penalty for motion in OT, Hill to MK for 30 yd TD instead of 25 yds.....Ags still win!

I do agree that you do not see that tripping call that far away from the play called very often.

I am not a big Bielema fan at all, but at least he did not whine about the refs or that call after the game.

And the fact that the player with the second-highest number of sacks this season was being held the entire game?

There was an excellent replay of it several plays later. The best view was not from down the field, but from across it.

I don't DVR so someone else will have to look it up.

And the facemask penalty that was missed?

And blatant PI by the Arkansas DB all over Kennedy during our last drive in regulation. That would have kept that drive alive and we win in regulation time.

And not to mention the gazillion holding penalties not called against the piggies OL.

It's was a trip. No doubt about it. Good call. Death for Arkansas, but still, a good call.

I hate the, "the refs cost us the game", debate.

Arkansas made two mistakes. Skipper did indeed trip (1), and (2), Arkansas put themselves into the position of being beaten by a flag.

Let's be honest. The officials could throw a flag on every down. Their job is to maintain order and fair play.

But the trip (directly in front of the ref) was just too flagrant to ignore.

BTW, Skipper is a good kid. Young, less disciplined, but still, a good kid. I'd just like him to be smarter than that.

He would of got away with the first trip attempt. It was the second time when he was flat on his back that made it so blatant. And that's football, not really dirty play. Dirty is that thug at MSU that tried to put his cleats through the LSU player's abdomen. That's dirty.

Disagree. Legwhips and trips are dangerous plays. Broken legs and injured knees were one of the reasons it was banned decades ago.

Props to you for admitting that call isn't made most of the time. As you can see from the responses most the the little girls on here would never admit to the ags getting a HUGE break from the refs!

I never see tripping called, because most idiot offensive lineman aren't laying on the ground tripping people. It's not something that happens every play.
JJxvi

If he did it 10 times there in. The middle of the field where the officials are looking it's called 9 out of 10 times. Maybe once or twice he gets lucky and shielded by bodies or something.

If a running team cant pick up a yard on multiple tries, blaming the refs for something you don't deserve to win is sour grapes.

If you were the better team, you should be able to get a yard when the game was on the line.

DannyDuberstein

JJxvi is right. It isn't called more because most aren't stupid enough to do it.

Ironic that 9 times out of 10 that Facemask is called, giving us a 1st and 10 at the 15, yet you fixate on a blatant and obviously correct tripping call. Odd that 9 times out of 10 we don't have three easy TDs dropped/overthrown/WR falls down, nor do we give up a 51 yard fake punt for a TD on 4th and 10, and yet we still won the game.

This. The trip wasn't dirty. But it was blatant enough on that play to merit the flag.
Refs blew stuff on both sides all game. Can't really fault em, didn't see an advantage to either side on BS calls.
About Kennedy's wiggle in OT.....okay, move us back 5 yds. We'd have called same formation, same play, same result. That play was saved from earlier in the game, had same everything, but Hill missed it first time

I was at an Aggie Muster once where Dat Nguyen was the speaker. He was talking about some NFL experiences and said that once he was matched up with Randy Moss, there wasn't time to adjust or substitute, and the only thing he could think to do was trip Randy Moss, so he did it.

Can't complain about a no-call 5 yard penalty on first down when the ensuing play would have been a touchdown from our own five yardline.

Trip was an obvious call... the first replay only showed the first little kick, which wasn't obviously intentional and I thought was a bad call. However, the subsequent replay showed his second trip which was super obvious and intentional. Easy call for the official. Lucky for us, but it was clearly a penalty so again I don't see how Arkansas can complain.

Really, we need to execute better. We needed to catch a break in the form of a dumb penalty plus pull out a fantastic defensive stand on the last six drives of the game. Kenny Hill started out looking pretty poor with bad decisions and poorly placed throws, then when he got it together our guys couldn't catch the ball. Can't play like that against the better teams in the SEC West and expect to pull out a win.

You don't see it because it almost never occurs. And its going to get called every time since it is a personal foul. If it was a hold, plays behind the ball (I think 20 yards is a stretch) are usually ignored.

He just needs to learn only the runner can be legally tripped, then he'll be fine.
