IF Erick Dickerson stayed with A&M, would SMU ever been caught?

That happened while my dad was at A&M and I wasnt around then so did E.D. bring the attention there or would it still of happened to SMU? I get that everybody was doing it, SMU got the hammer for multiple offenses. I guess, what would CFB look like right now, E.D. came here, SMU never got hammer, SWC still in tact, im assuming Paying Players would of gotten big. Im just trying to imagine that world.

check out the 30 for 30 called "Pony Express". they break down what happened. it wasn't linked to E.D. necessarily but there was physical proof that they paid players and got busted. no one else had physical proof on the rest of the NCAA teams.

It was a dline or oline that got home sick/injured wasn't playing and he blew the whistle on everyone. ED never got caught or admitted till after they were on death penalty.
