This isn't going away at all, in fact this should get very interesting. The woman stopped talking back in February, not recently. So there has been someone else (maybe her) who came forward with new info. Also Florida state knew about this according to deadspin. We haven't heard the last of this

Choosing not to pursue charges is not the same thing as innocence. Sexual assault victims often do this because there is a stigma attached to those victims and it's very painful and embarrassing to live through a prosecution of this type. However I am curious as to what the new info is.

It's the DA's decision to prosecute on a criminal charge, not the victim.

Something is very strange about this case. If they collected physical evidence, they would know if they had a case without the victims cooperation early in the case. If they don't have cooperation from the victim and they lack physical evidence, would the victims statement be enough? Would they need another witness? I am guessing this "new information" has to be an eye-witness.

There is an article. The article states some information on the case. Some people want to discuss it. Anyone with a brain can figure out if they have nothing to add, they can close the thread and go away.

In most states, once a woman files a complaint, the police ask her to consent to a medical exam. If she does it, and the results are conclusive, she cannot change her mind later to drop the charges.

As much as I want to see anyone not named Johnny Manziel plummet in the Heisman standings--it seems like not that long ago espin and the rest of the nation wanted to tear apart our QB on the basis of a couple pictures and some heretofore unknown "sources". I believe the allegations against Winston to be a bit more serious, so it seems wise and respectable to let case play out--that means waiting for actual credible evidence--rather than do to this young man what others, swept away by the media, did to Johnny. --A caution, not an indictment against anyone here.

Holy crap, there is quite a bit of dillusion in those comments. People blaming UF for the charges, they are convinced that she made this up cuz she was embarassed about drunk sex, that flordia's defense sucks and ACC is better than the SEC. Not sure which is the worst.

So did the woman change her mind about not pressing charges? Doesn't sound like they can charge him if they found anything.

wouldn't be the first time. I want Johnny to win the Heisman as much as everyone, but we shouldn't be wishing a potentially false charge stick on Winston to have him "drop" in the rankings to get there.

Didn't the report say she was beaten?
