Heard of it but never been? Any other new bars to be aware of?

I found this, pretty good rundown of the new bars.

It's pretty good. Nothing super special about it (in my opinion). Margaritas are pretty strong and relatively inexpensive ($5) so that's the main attraction to us poor college kids

Decent food, can't comment on drinks other than they have an entire menu dedicated to margaritas.

It is a tex mex place. Nothing amazing. They have a drink called the dr pepper shoot out to share and compete against your friends. Tent out front for game weekends. Nice patio.

Backyard opened up where fitzwilly was. New paint job, similar interior. Sweet tea vodka and tequila on tap. Opened a bar out back and fenced off the parking lot with some tents. Owned by same company as daisy dukes etc.

Black water draw is not open yet. Back in the corner where that Mexican restaurant was. Frederico's I think. Will be a microbrewery. Owned by O'Bannons.

Daisy dukes added a rooftop patio with some tv's.

Forgot tipsy turtle which used to be the tattoo parlor with the midget. It has daiquiri drinks and shots mostly. Owned by paddock lane.

Paddock lane also just expanded their patio in the last two weeks to keep up with the joneses.

Fitz's is now the "Backyard". I actually enjoy it. The ranch took over Barbershots and made the first floor larger. Everything else is the same... I don't know why she included the last bars: the foundation, the social, gatsby's, and hookah.... they're bad.

Their crispy beef tacos are $.99 until Sept. 21 and they are really good. Great place.

The Backyard is probably the best new bar/eatery on NG. Chimmy's has good food and drinks but tends to undergo a frat-daddy takeover after the sun goes down, not my scene.

If you do anything other than go to the Chicken, drink pearl light and play some 42, your'e not a true Aggie. Turn your ring in.

The one in Ft. Worth has cheap food of decent quality and hot waitresses and bartenders. I think it's a Tech bar spinoff.

What bar did it replace?

It is a Tech bar, started in Lubbock. The Fort Worth location flies Tech crap all over the place in it.

That said, it's not a bad place. Decent food and drinks.

I think it's a short name for chimichanga.

What was Delux Burger?

Chimy's is where that old diner used to be at the west end of northgate.

Haven't had drinks there but the food is pretty good.

Met my wife at the original Chimy's in Lubbock while I was in law school...great place
