I have been thinking about this for some time and thought I might get your input. This is in regards to the upcoming "rivalry" we have with South Carolina.
There are a lot of trophies passed back and forth to the winner of the series in rivalry's around the nation and in the SEC. Most noticeably the boot between lsu and arky. I ask you to read on as I explain in more detail.
My father went to A&M and graduated in the FTAC of 67. He married my mother in 74, and history moved on.
My mothers' family history however runs in the SEC. Roots can be traced back to 1130 AD but more importantly back to 1803. My family (mothers side) was settled in South Carolina between the turn of the 1700's and 1800's. They migrated down through Alabama, Louisiana, then into East Texas.
Sadly, my mother and grandmother (mom's mom) passed within the previous 2 years. It left my sister and I with much worry and a lot of heirlooms. I found one of said heirlooms that had been appraised and the history of it found.
My great great great grandmother had woven a tapestry, dating back to 1803. This is while my mothers family was in South Carolina. It traveled with the family through out the years and into East Texas.
I would like to know if this might be a suitable back and forth trophy, although campy, between the two colleges. I do not know if the SEC would like it, or you, the 12th Man. This is just a suggestion and might like your honest and respectful feed back on the matter.
If you approve, I would gladly donate this part of history to Texas A&M and the SEC.
