How long do you want to ignore this user?
I would like mythbusters to do an episode on how long it would take (or if its physically possible)to sign 4000 autographs in the time that Johnny was said to have done it in.

Then in the next segment I would want to know how hot was the sparkler he had in his mouth in that 'poppin bottles' picture. (what if was thermite)

Any other segment ideas???

Need to stress the consistency of the sigs.

Rig a machine to try the top of Kyle into basketball net shot. How hard is it really?

I feel bad for whatever intern at DSC that has to filter through all the JFF/A&M suggested "myths"....but let's submit them anyways.

That would be some boring TV. Watching those two "experts" sign a bunch of stuff real fast.

^I think i will... THANKS!!! What is the exact amount of time Johnny was said to have signed the 4000 or is that part of the mystique ESPiN is keeping from us along with their sources.

You realize he is not reported to have signed them in one sitting right? I mean I might have to call you EFROGSPN with your reporting skills OP.

Submit it to the sports science show too on ESPN.

Enigma that is why i ask what was the time frame? Either way i think it would be an interesting look as to how ridiculous the claim of the mass signing is.

So is that why Sum will not comment on Johnny's carpal tunnel injury?

I don't know why y'all can't figure this out yourselves but say JFF signs once every 10 seconds, 4,000 signatures would take 11+ hours. 6 sig per min. X 60 min per hr = 360 sigs per hour. 4,000/360=11.11. Amirite???

1500 were supposedly signed on the day of the BCS title game in Florida. Don't tell me Johnny's dance card wasn't full that day. On another day, he supposedly signed another 1500.

Each year, I have to sign my name only to about 250 Christmas cards for my customers. I do not do them all at one sitting. I can do about 30 at one time before my signature quality goes to crap. I finish these over the course of one day, but it's no fun.

I guaran-damn-tee Johnny didn't sign 1500 items at one sitting.

From my experimentation with my own signature a sustained rate of about 4 per minute would be going really fast, particularly on large irregular surfaces like helmets that have to be handled.

4,000/4 per minute = 1,000 minutes = 16.6 hours. That's two full work days of doing nothing but signing autographs.

If only someone coudl garan-damn-tee that Johnny didn't sign any for money. That way the biggest frustration would be why he prefers to party with sips in Austin.

I can easily sign 20 times in a minute. But we are talking JFF right now... he is fast. I bet he could sign 4,000 in 32 minutes. That is ~$14,062.5 per hour. Not bad.

I'm good at 5 seconds per, but none of them come out the same. I would say that 6-10 per minute wouldn't be a bad time. 1500/10 would be 150 minutes, or 2 1/2 hours for a single sitting. I doubt anyone could sit and sign for that long. Your hand would simply get tired. I think an average of 5-6 per minute sustained would be much more realistic, and that would take just over 4 hours to do. I have to seriously doubt some of the claims made by some of these guys based on the time it would take to do what they say he did.

It is also naive to think that what you can do in a minute or two translates anywhere close to what you can do in an hour. Usain Bolt can run 100 meters in ~9.6 seconds. But 1500 meters won't be run by him in 2.4 minutes or he'd have a s-ton more gold medals.

Yeah he would slow down after the first minute. Good idea op

This is one of the most obvious "fact-checking" flubs of the entire "auto-gate scandal". Can someone physically sign 1,000+ items in one sitting without their signature ending up being unrecognizable? I've been trying to stay objective throughout this whole thing, but the storyline that these brokers "leaked" the story to try and validate their counterfeit/autopen goods is sounding more and more like what actually happened.

Once one concludes the 4400 items (especially the pair of 1500 items at two sittings) were not all signed by JFF, then you have to admit many items are forgeries and the dealers have no credibility. If the dealers are confident they can pass forgeries as legitimate to the end buyers, why ever pay a premium for real autographs? Just use the copiers to make as many as you need. Of course you need a few original autographs to seed the operation, but these can be obtained for free pretty easily.

This makes the most sense because the players know good and well that accepting money for autographs is verboten.

It all pieces together nicely this way. The players are not stupid and are not stupidly taking money. The dealers are frauds and are fraudulently copying autographs to the extent the market requires. Market need explains why there are more Manziel's than Clowney's than Ash's. Media only care about ratings and dropped this bomb during the summer lull when there is only MLB playing. NFL/NCAA resumes and you don't hear about this story on ESPN.

Schad, Rovell, and ESPN have done JFF pretty dirty though. They smeared his reputation for the sake of ratings. Not nice.

Nice synopsis Forty. Easiest explanation other than "Johnny really is that dumb" which I do not believe.

The number of stories coming out about the number of forged signatures and the fraudulent "authentications" has made it clear that the only way for A&M or the NCAA to prove JFF is guilty of anything would be photos or video of him accepting money or a confession from JFF himself. The actors in the sports autograph industry are bigger criminals and less trustworthy than my criminal clients. Nothing they say can be relied upon. In the criminal courts, testimony from co-conspirators must be corroborated. It needs to be here, too.

So much for Rovell's un-unravelable lie.

Weird that CBS is now joining the fray with the "NCAA doesn't need proof" story. I wonder how their agenda will unfold.
