Everyone keeps throwing no proof of money being accepted out there as defense, but I didn't know till the ESPN article said at the end last night that a student has to make every effort to stop the selling of his likeness. Could they suspend him on the grounds that he did all these signings knowing the brokers were going to sell them? How could he possibly justify 4400 autos or whatever the number turns out to be?

Unfortunately I tend to agree. Too much circumstantial evidence. The University's credibility is on the line.

Anyone that thinks Johnny is done, doesn't know what they are talking about. Without proof, the NCAA is NOT going to suspend the Heisman winner. Did I think he did it.......yes. However, without proof, Johnny plays.

Concern could be if this vendetta drags on past opening day without a decision.

Saw that the NCAA only needs to be 70% sure that a rule was violated to lay down penalties.

And let's not forget the other rule: he needs to try, to the best of his ability, to stop the selling of his likeness/autographs. Seems like he almost encouraged it..

Your first question should be, "do I trust my news source?"

Secondly, I'd say the ncaa has a huge problem on their hands if they suspended him based on that rule. Because, the ncaa has been making money off every players likeness via their online store and video games

The only "evidence" are some anonymous brokers who refuse to cooperate or come forward which means there is no evidence.

Well if they suspendhim for that, they sure as hell better suspendall of theother players who signed for the same brokers.

And yet he continues to work with 1st team offense in every snap yet POLO there, who paid for stars so he would be informed with no Ag tag and his buddy with nothing there in Lion, says it is over.

Trolling at it's finest.

There's little proof he even signed ALL of the items listed. Most of them are likely fakes, particularly because they are so close to being identical it would appear.

could not the argument be made that he tried to stop all this when he had his name trade marked?

Careful. I said this yesterday and was threatened with being banned.

Well, other than a documented 4,400 memorabilia items, sequentially numbered bearing his autograph along with a video of him signing said items (at least some of them). Other than that, yeah, there's no evidence.

He did try to stop the sell of it. His family's lawyer contacted eBay and warned them to stop selling them.

I suppose it could. But I don't know if that's enough to cover him signing autographs for brokers who are definitely going to sell them.

Signing memorabilia is not an NCAA violation.

SHHHHHHHHHH! What will keep our moronic posters here busy if they just take the time to remember this fact? Right now we have them kinda' boxed in and identified like Lion up there.

If A&M or the NCAA can not get a hold of the video, all they have is a third-party witness who saw the video... they don't have the video (which means they can't investigate it's quality), and they don't have the person who actually shot the video. A&M is using their law firm in an attempt to drum up as much information as they can.

and the video has no proof of any money exchanging hands.

This was admitted by the instigator Joe Schaad himself.

No.... a circumstantial conviction will only get the NCAA sued, along with ESPN all the way to Jupiter and back.

I know that "Texas Jim" Darnell is hoping the NCAA pulls another blunder. He's already got ESPN in his sights for Libel and Slander.

Johnny may never have to play a down of pro football and still be the richest athlete of all time, thanks to ESPN's hatred of him.

Lambert, what color shirt was jff wearing in the video? Oh you haven't seen it? Oh only one person has seen the video because it isn't for sale and being kept private. Well I'll just take your word about what's on the video

If the NCAA needs 70% proof, they are sitting at 0-5% right now.

It's not maroon-colored glasses. You are presenting items as "proof" that to the best of our knowledge, A&M nor the NCAA actually has.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
remember...JF does not come from a poor inner city family that doesn't have resources to take legal action vs. the NCAA. JF's family has resources. They will block the NCAA from suspending him w/o hard evidence of direct payments. The fact that the NCAA is not investigating other players that signed with the one of the same brokers helps JF's legal cause. Shows inequality in enforcement/investigating

Anybody that thinks this will bring him down is high.

Take him down on what we have seen so far, and you better be ready to take out about 20 other top players for similar circumstantial evidence.

Do I think he did it? Yep.

Do I think he is one of MANY? Yep.

Is this the 1980's SWC where "everyone else is doing it" doesn't matter? Not hardly. Too many cameras and and too many keyboards.

I stated a fact.
-He probably got paid.
-I don't think there's any proof.
-I think the NCAA will suspend him anyway.

For one thing, there is no proof that most of what is being sold on ebay have actually been signed by JFF. Where are all of these 4400 signed items? Do they only exist because some unidentified person say they do? By the way, the Manziels did have a cease and desist order to stop sales on ebay and other outlets. Isn't that doing all you can to prevent sales and therefor profits?
