There are links there to MP3s of the War Hymn. Also links to where you can buy the albumns, and not rip off the Aggie Band.

"Wildcat" is not really a yell, and not really part of the War Hymn. It is signalled either by the Band Director, or a Drum Major to the lead Bass Drum, usually a senior or sometimes a junior, who begins it via a particular 2 handed banging on the stands bass drum (Not one carried in a drill). Is played whenever a good thing happens in a football game, not necessarily a first down.

Anyone know how long it goes back? LTC Adams did it so it goes back at least to 1947.

canyonag, it's a 4 second wave file that someone was nice to send to me... I'm sorry if you think that buying an album is worth that four second file, unfortunately I don't... and I think most of my friends in the Aggie Band would agree. The one I have isn't really the first down wav. It's just the one from the War hymn and is very slow and somewhat broken. If anyone has the actual quick version of it, let us know!

Its not ripping off the band, but it would help support the band by buying an album...

Wildcat is in the War Hymn, right before Hot Time except in the second refrain the second half of Wildcat is different so as to flow into hot Time

BTW, there is the short "wildcat" on at least one of the FTAB's albumns, but far be it from me to suggest you actually buy it....
