Figured I'd ask the Zoo:

I received a parking ticket at West Campus (imagine that) about a month ago. However, I graduated on Saturday. While I have pretty much decided I'm going to pay for it just out of my own conscience (even though it is a ridiculous offense), what are the consequences if I don't? especially now that I've graduated...

Thoughts?

Not a private college, they wont let you renew your licence if you dont pay it

Do you have your official transcript? Likely will make you pay it before you could get that.

This. I had a buddy that needed transcripts, but they held them because of 3 or 4 unpaid tickets he received after graduating.

I graduated in Aug 2011. My mom got a parking ticket the week before mt graduation because she was picking up my cap n gound from the MSC. I have never paid it and get monthly email reminders about.

fast forward to last week I was talking to an advisor at UH about MBA stuff and she said send your resume over blah blah blah. Well after going through all the BC to get back onto howdy to get my t-script I log on to view my t-script and it WONT LET Me due to holds on my account. That hold being that ticket.

My grades were so bad that I made sure I got a parking ticket before graduation.

Now future employers will not be able to contest my story that I had a 4.0.

They'll send you to a collection agency, and put a block on you transcript.

Ive gotten a ton of tickets, but I always dispute them. They rarely take the time to actually review the "case", and just dismiss them or reduce the fee to $10.

They'll hold your Transcripts.

You may think you'll never need them but you will and TAMU knows this. They will get you sooner or later.

Did you see what they did to Theon Greyjoy? Expect that but worse.

They will send university police to find you and taze you in the butthole.

This is almost genius. It's not quite. It's like Dr Evil sort of genius. And for that reason, blue parachute for you sir.

I got a parking ticket at t.u. 2 thanksgivings ago. I never paid it.

They will notify you a year after graduation that the Registrar's office made a mistake and you still need to take a 1 hour PE class to graduate and that your diploma has been revoked until you do. When you come back to take your class, they will not let you graduate until you pay the ticket. This exact scenario has happened to thousands of people the last few years.

I was wondering the same thing. I just got a ticket last week. I think it is a bs ticket, but what are they going to do if I don't pay?

I haven't needed my transcripts in over 20 yrs.

I had a few outstanding tickets, one morning I went out to my car and the Bowtie himself had slashed my tires and threw a brick through my window with a note that said "pay up bitc*h.

Just pay it ! Why even question it. I expect that you deserved it, even if it does torque you a bit. You will never regret doing the right thing..............

Last time I got a tkt at A&M was Jan 62. Was in my car with other guys--we were going to a movie downtown. Guy next to me was just lighting a cigarette when the KK stuck the tkt thru the window. So, he lights the tkt on fire and we drove off. Don't know why I was not subsequently arrested.
