I know they don't do Blessing of the Fleet anymore, but Battle of the Flowers parade was always a HUGE time boof.

Perhaps, but that is what you get for being one of the best ambassadors of our brand! It was usually hot as heck in those unis, but the one thing I will say for the parade is that the people put out for it and there were usually a ton there (normal t-shirt sip contingent in SA as well).

Good bull, but if you go to that much effort to get all the BQs to San Antonio why not wear midnights or at least the long sleeve bravos so you have a tie?

^ Because it was hot and there was a 1000% humidity. We sweated out our B's. People would have fallen out for sure if we wore long sleeves

Have you ever marched that parade? It's about 8 miles in 100 degree heat. I've marched it four times (one or two in A's, the others in B's). It sucks either way, but midnights would really suck.

Glad to see they were in the battle of flowers!
But it would have been nice to hear them at Kyle today!

exaggerate much? Long before you guys were walking BQ's were marching in the Battle of Flowers parade in Class A Summers (long sleeves & ties) and no one fell out due to heat exhaustion.

I've done that parade. Anyone who asks about long-sleeves (no matter what color) obviously hasn't marched in it. Heat & humidity rivals an early Sept football game in the afternoon.

I'd heard stories, from Old BQ's (my father, etc) that it used to be more of a weekend trip. It was just a day trip for us when I was in the Band (95-99)

For our outfit we would march the parade and then head to New Braunfels for a Friday night campout and then float the river Saturday morning/afternoon, and then head back to campus that afternoon or evening.

Because it was at the end of the semester it was more laid back and the jokes were a little funnier and always by the fish about the upperclassmen.

It was always a welcomed time away from campus.

I could see Class A Summers...but midnights would kill people.

Yes. Four times, all in Class A Summers, but then again, we marched every game in Class A Uniforms.

And yes the San Antonio Boof was a weekend. Parade and then party time, in and around San Antonio at a buddy's house.

Nice images.

Definitely proud of the Texas Aggie Band. IMO they are the best representatives of Texas A&M that we have.
