Yes, Fuller was the meat of this team.

Outside of a few key positions, we're really bring ing quite a few players back next season. If we can just solve the QB position early, I predict we'll beat expectations. I think we're underrated in this particular article.

Oh boy! LSU's Mattieu is back. We get to hear Mustardburger say "Honey Badger" every two seconds for another season.

Seems about right to me. Although, you could randomly rearrange the 6-11 teams and probably be just about as right.

A ton of crybabies commenting on it

Seems a reasonable ranking to me. Vandy probably has the greatest reason to have a problem w/ it.

Musberger doesn't even call SEC games until the BCS bowls dummy.

A&M can outperform this expectation. I like starting in such a spot. Climb the mountain - 1 step at a time.

In the following video, Chris Low & Edward Aschoff - the SEC Bloggers on ESPN.com, say that A&M loses "just about everybody" - which is 7 of 22 starters by my count - and don't mention anything about Arkansas or Mizzou, who both lose 11 of 22 starters by my count. In fact, Low says Mizzou's "bringing just about everybody back." Yes, Tannehill's gone, but how can having 15 starters back equal losing "just about everybody?" Anybody else have an opinion on this? Just seems like they haven't done their research. Not a good sign.

EDIT to provide the link. Scroll down to find it, dated Jan 12, 2:00 PM: http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/index/_/count/16

I've seen 'em play since way back when
And they've always had the grit.
I've seen 'em lose and I've seen 'em win
But I've never seen 'em quit.

Well, we tried the high expectations path this last year. I'm ready to try the low expectations path and see where we wind up. 2010 was kinda nice in that respect.

Forever proving the point: Everyone is an expert on the internet. And those that really believe themselves, can go and create a webpage to prove it!!

I have no problem with 'expert' opinions and polls, but they lose ALL credibility when they don't do their research and make up *****to support their ideas.

MSU's defense is going to be fantastic without Fletcher Cox, and the REASON we underachieved this year was because we were breaking in several new OL and were redshirting our two best WR. To put Tennessee ahead of them is laughable. I'm fully expecting MSU to improve significantly and start to challenge for the West with what we have coming back. I also expect them to beat Tennessee by over 30 points next year. Why do you think Denico Autry turned you guys down to go to MSU? He wanted to have a chance to WIN.

These rankings are nonsense. Not sure if A&M plays UT next year. If so, I fully expect that game to be out of hand at halftime in A&M's favor.

Get ready for the barrage of negative press heading into NSD. AGGSWAGG is locked and loaded for this stunt. Then Sumlin and company will serve all the naysayers a slice of SWAGG next year.

MSU's defense held LSU to 19 points this year. That was no small task. (Just ask Arkansas and Georgia)

Bulldog, when I first read this I thought you meant Texas (who goes by UT), but now I think you might be referring to Tennessee. Either way, we're not playing either of them next year, but if you say "UT" to an Aggie - or anybody in Texas - they're probably going to think you mean Texas.

First--these are power rankings out less than a week after the national championship game.

Second--we were ranked number 9 at one point last year.

These mean nothing and early season rankings mean nothing. When we win the close games instead of lose the close games --that will show power rankings.

Wow, though you only mention your defense, I reckon your offense will be much improved next year. Looking forward to a good game in Starkville next year.

Got it, definitely referring to Tennessee. In the South, they are referred to as UT. I usually use TU or UTA for that school in Austin...but, I should have known that many Ags would see UT and immediately think University of Texas Austin. I will from now on use Tenn. until most Ags get the SEC feel of things.

Nothing against bill, but bulldog, UT means Tennessee on these boards. The University of Texas is endearingly referred to as 'tu'. Don't let anybody tell you different.

could be a good game ntxVol. I think last year's 6-6 will not be normal under Coach Mullen. The Auburn game early on proved to be very difficult to recover from. Our OL woes were too much to overcome against the stacked DL's in the SEC. The offense this past year had little chance from the start. There is a LOT of young talent there however.

This coming up season, I could easily see MSU 7-0 going into the Alabama game. Definitely not your dad's MSU team or football program. Despite last year's struggles, there were several games, most notably LSU, SC, and Auburn that easily could have gone our way. The defense is going to be even better and I have little doubt the offense will return to what it was when we beat Michigan by nearly 50.

Tennessee always has a LOT of talent, but I really don't think Dooley will do much of anything there. I really don't think he is a very good motivator or a decent coach. That is just the way I see it. In time, I have little doubt Tennessee will return to the powerhouse program they are known for. Not under the current coach however...

atm_grifter has a good point. I am one of the very few Aggies who chooses not to use t.u. for Texas, because it's belittling, and I treat them the way I want them to treat me. His point is valid, and, as you suggest, Aggies will probably get very used to "UT" meaning Tennessee after we've been in-conference for a while.
