I've learned what some of the enigmatic posts/responses mean...and remain clueless about others

Understand: germans, waffles, rule #1
Lost: ankles, hair, torbush

ankles is TexAgs code for users, so we know who posts on here. So the next time you're with a group of Ags, just check out whoever you're talking to's feet and say "Nice ankles bro".

They will no doubt give you a thumbs up and buy you a beer.

Some poster on some past thread thought it was important to comment on players' ankles - supposed to be indicative of overall fitness for football or sunthin. Kind of an absurd thing to note, so naturally texags picked up on it in sort of a sarcastic way...

Regarding 'hair'...ref warren zevon's song 'werewolves of London'...final line goes something like this:

"I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at trader Vic's, and his hair was perfect"

Somehow this reference got mixed in with the ankles reference...so any time someone mentions seeing a celeb or athlete - it is customary to comment on their hair and ankles...

Make sense? I didn't think so. but that's how I understand it.

Me? I have weak ankles and gray (non-perfect) hair.

Hair comes from a guy who said he saw McGee in the rain and commented on how perfect hos hair was, despite the storm.

I think the Torbush reference is to when we were getting our heads handed to us in Utah and somebody's got that .gif of him, saying, "Wow.".

I know the ankles thing is a running joke but it just comes across as creepy pretty much every time it's used.

Ankles comes from a time when we had a ton of players with injured ankles. A poster saw one of these players out a couple days before a game. Post made no mention of ankle health leaving everyone asking about his ankles. Legend was born that day...

When I see a post that starts with
"I saw______at," I take a pass and don't bother to open it because I know that it will include the hair and ankles nonsense.
Yes, I know that I don't have to read such threads....and I don't.

Ankles pre-dates most of you...it started with Reggie McNeal's freshman year. McNeal was the savior of the program but one poster disagreed claiming his ankles looked small. I don't recall if the poster was going for sarcasm but it was a CU@Kyle kind of thread if memory serves.

Oh and what Memphis said "Torbush" is analogous to "wow"

In Torbush's defense, that was Alex Smith and Urban Meyer ripping apart our D at the time

I remember it this way, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Man he did have some skinny ankles tho.

I remeber the Reggie quotes but seem to remember it had something to dod with a picture from practice of I believe Bethel Johnson agaimst one of our db's. I remeber that started some silly discussio that hung around for awhile and may have been the precursor for the Reggie ankles discussion.

Damn I am olld and been on this site for a long time.

Must have been some truth about Murrays ankles. He lost some of one year when the bottom of his shoe just about touched the back of his calf ! Was Theismanesque video.

To be fair Reggie had a tendency towards high ankle sprains. On his State championship run he came out every game with a sprain, got some tape and such and still ran faster than everyone else.

Do waffles help ankles?

I don't know where or how it started, nor do I care. All I know is that it makes me angry every time I see some post about ankles or hair. TexAgs can't seem to get enough of the craptastic ankle updates.

All I'll add is that I hope people realize that having swollen ankles is prison code for a guy who bends over in the shower all the time and grabs his ankles to keep balance during the um... unpleasantries.

Personally, I'd rather our players and coaches be on the OTHER side of said, ahem, boning.
