After seeing Florida St and Georgia play, it got me thinking. Would Aggies be in favor or opposed to having decals on the helmets for play on the field. I'm not sure what the decal would be, maybe small bonfires, block aTm's, etc, but it would be like GA's bones, FSU has the tomahawk, OSU the buckeyes. Do you think they would approve that?

Perhaps we could have pep rallies and run through a big paper sign too.

Our helmets look fine as they are - nice and clean looking. I would say leave them alone.

Count me as a big NO on the helmet stickers. Fran did not have 'em at Bama. I am not sure if he had 'em at TCU but I doubt it considering his philosophy that the 115th man is just as important as everyone else on the team. I believe Fran is all about "TEAM" and the stickers are about individual kudo's.

I do like UGa's use of decals to recognize academic achievement. Good idea.

I have seen old A&M helmets that used white stars as achievment stickers. This is back when the helmet logo was a tall T with smaller A - M at the base of it (instead of centered). If I knew how to post a picture I would.

Tell me you are kidding, trying to get a rise out of folks for the new year, something. I see you are young - not suprized by your suggestion. I was watching some of those games and was thinking what a horrible waste of a building experience - those decals just show that some of those kids are more worried about themselves than TeAM!!!!!!

I'm not saying I'm for it or aginst it, just wondering what others thought. Personally I like the the way our helmets look now, I also did not know if this had been done in the past. And what does being young have anything to do with it, I did not realize that Class of '90 makes you wise

Man, how I HATE the offseason!

Look at all the other classy programs out there that do not have "Individual achievments" on their helmets...Examples being Michigan, Penn State, USC, The big schools in this great state, LSU, Alabama etc etc etc and the list goes on. Keep them off the helmets.

NO WAY. i HATE those little stickers. I like the helmets as they are..the stickers just make them look cluttered up.

actually Michigan use to have them for a few years in the 80s.
The thing is, they seem to be getting out of hand as far as the amount of them given away. I watched an ESPN Classic of Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and Art Schliester had half of one side of his helmet, now players have both sides of the whole helmet filled.

This reminds me of when Jackie wanted to have an oversized cartooned Old Sarge Mascot roaming the sidelines. But on a helmet change that needs to be reversed, let's go back to the white face masks.

They take away from the balanced look of the helmets.

Also, they hurt the "Team" mentality. Each player gives 100% and his 100% is just as important as every other player's 100%.

Also, I agree they are juvenile. The thought of reward stickers reminds me of grade school experiences...

No Stickers. It works for some schools, and its not that I hate them at say OSU, FSU, or UGA, I think its a cool part of their tradition. But, we have never adorned our helmets with stickers. I know it's the off season and we all need something to talk about, but c'mon... it seems like folks are going a little nutty with this whole "well we have a new coach, so lets trash our current unis and go with all black jerseys with purple helemts and we'll put little signal orange stickers on em!" thing. I think that the uni's from helmet to cleats looks fine just the way it is!

Let's wait for that New Year's hangover wear off and then talk football...

Nope. The little bones on the UGA helmets is the silliest thing I have seen.

Some players get decals, some get checks...

The only thing that Fran would change is the logo, and I bet you he'll go with this:



on a white helm. Or used the white and grey variant on a maroon one. Its more modern and sharp, and that's what Fran usually does with the helms, makes them look sharp.

the only decent idea I heard about for those stickers was the black bones for UGA for academic performance. That's not a bad idea, but I don't want either the individual athletic achievement or academic achievement stickers used on our helmets. It reminds me too much of when they gave out those little metal stars to you when you played tee ball. Childish

I say leave our helmets and uniforms alone, we've got bigger things to concentrate on - like turning our program around

I think my high school did that too....maybe they can give us some pointers.

The only thing that still needs to be changed is our record. I'm sure that is what Fran is focused on, and rightfully so.

Although the only inventive idea that came out of mack brown was the small Texas sticker on their helmets. With each Texas school beaten they get a colored dot representing the team they beat. Pretty cool. Wish we would of thought of it.
