BC plays in a major conference, even though it is the big east, it is still a msjor conference, and they had a winning record anmd beat notre dame. They could not have accomplished what they did without "athletes".

Toledo plays in the MAC. Nuff said.

The thing that a lot of people forget about Boston College is that, until a just a couple of years ago, it was the only Div I school in New England. (UConn is now the second). That means they have a huge population base from which to draw athletes, with virtually no competition. The skill position guys are not as plentiful up here, but it seems that they are able to find big, fast linemen just by looking behind the nearest tree. At any rate, BC is almost always competitive, even in their down years. Alberts should have known that. After all, Nebraska used to recruit very aggressively in New Jersey, one of BC's most prolific recruiting grounds.

Last night at halftime of the OkSt/S Miss game Trev compared the backup QB of S Miss to Brett Favre. He caught eight kinds of crap from Fowler and May. After that he said, "Well, maybe it was a bit of a reach." Nice.

I would love to see Mark May reach over with those mits of his and put Alberts into an Iron Claw.
