Does anyone have the video of our next head coach, Fran, offering a few choice words to Saban after Bama beat the crap out of LSU last Sat night?

Apparently, he was angry over reports that Saban had referred to Bama's program as dirty. The audio isn't there but you can clearly see Fran giving him an earful. Saban just froze like a deer in the headlights.

He accused Saban of having "onion crotch".

Saban gets under the skin of more than a few other coaches whenever he starts to pretend he is on some moral higher ground when it comes to recruiting. Saban was rumored to have said something about Alabama being "cheaters", and Francione reportedly reacted to that.

Some might remember Saban's little tantrum on signing day when he questioned the integrity of not only Archie McDaniel, but his parents as well, when Archie changed his mind from LSU to A&M on the last weekend. Never mind that Saban's own coaches were trying every underhanded trick in the book to get Reggie McNeil to decommit from A&M at the same time.

The thing that makes it so galling coming from Saban is that the other coaches know exactly how he recruits. Under the circumstances, he really should keep his mouth shut.

Someone is bound to have the details but I believe LSU & Saban ran up the score on Bama last year. LSU was throwing for TD's late in a game that LSU had put away much earlier, supposedly to get some sort of school record (TD passes in a season?) for LSU's QB, Rohan Davey. (spelling of his name may be incorrect)

I'm paraphrasing but I believe Franchione's comments to Saban had something to do with "payback being a B*tch".

Internet hoax causes rift between LSU, Alabama

LSU coach Nick Saban found an irritated Dennis Franchione waiting midfield after the Tide beat the Tigers 31-0 last Saturday .

The Alabama coach was apparently angry over an anonymous e-mail message about a post-game speech attributed to Saban. But Saban denies he made the snide remarks about Alabama and the school's NCAA sanctions.

The unsigned message had no attribution. It claimed Saban made the anti-Alabama remarks while addressing his team following the LSU-Kentucky game.

The author of the e-mail message "just made it all up," Saban said.

"He wasn't in the locker room. He wasn't within 800 miles of the locker room."

The prankster later published a retraction, Saban said. But Franchione and his team apparently did not see it.

"It was pretty obvious when I was walking across the field that some of the Alabama players were pretty upset about it," Saban said. "And I just mentioned to Fran that I didn't make those statements and didn't make those comments."

Saban was pretty classy in the post-game interview after the Kentucky miracle.

Anyone remember when Saban was shut out by Coach Fran?

Indeed . . . . .he was a "better recruiter than Mack Brown and better gameday coach than Bob Stoops."

Unless you have a decent football memory, you can't remember the relatively and sustained mediocrity of the Bama and LSU programs back then.

Fran was a fraud who knew how to sell high. Any real digging would have turned that up. His former players hated him. Most of his assistants did not go on to bigger and better. Most of the programs he left typically regressed to the mean very quickly. A well built program typically takes 2-3 years to collapse.

I admit that I was yound and naive back then and drank the cool-aid.

I wonder what brought more traffic to Texags: '02 Fran rumors, or '07 Fran rumors?

Not by me….I had ALWAYS thought that it was a crap hire

Is there really any Coach that won big/15 min of fame that wasn't tied to a player that sat for the award at the NY athletic club? (Obviously other than Saban or Les Miles with Sabans left overs)? Ladanian T made Fran "poor man Sumlin" rich…

Not a whole lot changed in the past 22 years.
