Seriously? Still? That was the big song back when I was in college - I graduated in 1983. And that song cannot be appropriately sung along to without a longneck bottle in your hand.

If anyone here hasn't heard the song "Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold" by Townes Van Zandt, do yourself a favor and listen right now. Not in a few minutes, now. And imagine A&M and Mr. Mudd and t.u. as Mr. Gold.

If you're in The Station, tune into 105.3FM. I found this station about a year ago, and it is a brand new Texas Country station. Some of it is silly, but most of it appeals to the country sensibilities of those who don't want to be inundated by Nashville.

Listen one day and you'll be hooked!

Not the most popular in the 80's, but probably the second most popular at the Chicken (after DAC's You Don't Have to Call Me..) was...

Ramblin' Scramblin' by Jerry Jeff Walker from his early days. It was so un-PC that some with "enlightened" tastes got it banned from the Chicken for years. They will play it nowdays upon request, but it is not in regular rotation.

Some of you young-uns ought to check it out. It is some great "Texas Music" before Texas music was "cool".
