my last name starts with Gb. However, to make it easier for people to say, we pronounce the G. In real life, the G is silent. That is typically the standard for african names
Well, riddle me this Batman... Unless those names come from a part of Subsaharan Africa colonized by the French, why in the H would there be a "silent letter" at the beginning of a name? African languages didn't use "Roman lettering" until Europeans got there and started trying to spell out those names and words.
I doubt that someone said, "you know...even though my name starts with a "B" sound, i think it would be cool to start it with an "N" or "G" letter just to be different". My name is John...but shoot, it looks so much cooler to be spelled Njohn.
