I got natural, but most people are going to say antique.

Antique. The natural finish (which I believe is called "rose" doesn't stand out as much.

Antique! The rose and natural finishes look a lot like the Baylor ring.

When i was growing up, i remember always looking at my Dad's Aggie ring and thinking how cool it was and wished someday i'd earn my own. So, when it came time for me to order mine, i knew that the only way to go was Antiqued.

to me, Antiqued is the only true Aggie Ring. I'm not a big fan of the 'bling bling' natural finish, and i think the only way you should be able to get a white gold one is if you are allergic to regular gold.

I got the white gold one (dark finish). Less gaudy.

rose is different than natural. You can get antique, natural, rose, or white gold.

Whichever finish you chose it's still an Aggie Ring and there isn't anything else like it in the world! Mine's natural.

Probably the most dumbass comment I've heard on this board in a long time. Please don't tell me we're now judging someone's "Aggieness" by the finish on their ring. I was just getting used to being referred to as a 2% because I only give a measely $2K to the 12th Man Foundation each year, and now I have to worry about the natural finish on my ring. What's next, your major? "To me, the only true Aggies were business majors.."

Hey, I'm a big fan of all Aggie rings. The antique is cool, but mine is also Bling Bling natural with some ice in it (and a big, fat 97). Never had anyone mistake it for another school.

This is truely a personal decision. Mine is antiqued, and I love the way it looks. I like the way an antiqued ring brings out each indiviual symbol in the ring.

Look at each finish side-by-side, and than make your decision. You're not going to be wrong any way you go, because it's your Aggie Ring.

When I was enrolled ('91-94), just about everyone had the rose finish. I got the antique finish and was definitely in the vast minority at the time. It seemed to be a late 80's/early 90's trend to get the rose finish, but seeing the posts above it appears that antique has once again become the popular finish. To me, the antique finish has that timeless look.

However, I do think the rose finish is more attractive for the ladies' rings.

You can have both. Mine is the natural finish - but when I don't clean it for a while it looks antique!

Do it!
Brad_97

Rose all the way - then take a toothbrush and toothpaste to it and you get a nice middle ground between the Rose and Natural which wasn't avail when I ordered my ring. The brush work brings out the highlights while leaving the rose finish in the background.

Antique the "only true" Aggie ring.....hell I'll kick you in the ass myself for that one. Elitist *******.

Antique for me.

Be careful if you have a jeweler clean your antique finish ring for you. My sister had her antique ring come back to her natural finish.

What the hell? How many finishes can you get now? It was either rose or antique. My dad said, "Get the big black one!" Antique just looks, should I say, more old Army. At the time I ordered mine, antique was out and rose was in. I had a classmate of mine show me his antique and I thought, " Man, that is ugly." But when it came time to order, I said what the hell, an Aggie ring with a garnet stone, please.

For me it's natural. After several years, the natural will lose that "blinding" look, and it looks pretty good IMO. The blinding look won't bother you your first few years of having the ring because you will want it to be prominent. The antique doesn't age well - it discolors. Some even flakes off.

Antique here guys. Just a personal preference, as its really the only piece of jewelry I own...

I agree though with the above posts, regardless of the style, the ring is an Aggie ring...

Natural.

When I was in the fall of my first senior year () I didn't have enough hours for my ring yet (I got it after that semester), so I couldn't get down to boot line... well officially. We got to hang out at the tailgate parties of some old Ags and on several occasions an old Ag would lend me his ring to get to down to bootline with my friends (he always volunteered it too, I never asked -- real Old Ags are so unbelievably cool), and I came to the conclusion that as the rings got older and the corners wore off the antique didn't age well.

Rose finish (DEFINITELY). The Antique finish looked too much like my high school ring. I don't think they had a "natural" option when I ordered mine (you could get white gold, though).
jbirdag96
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I got rose. When I ordered my Ring rose and antique were the only two options. I think white gold was just starting to be offered..I don't remember. Anyhow, rose was the most popular finish with antique being close behind. I've had mine for about six years now and it has more of a natural finish now. Rose, natural, antique, white gold, with or w/o diamond...there all Aggie Rings. God Bless and Gig 'EM

We only had one choice, which was fine. But the cost was outrageous...$63

Prior class ('73)paid something like $45 for their's, and prior to that it had been $25 forever.

I remember telling some SFC at Fort Riley during Army ROTC summer camp to take care of my ring while I was about to do the 40' rope drop. I volunteered to be the company demonstrator that afternoon in order to get it over with. As I removed my brand new ring and handed it to him, I said..."Take care of this, it cost me $6000."...He looked askance and said "What is this sh_t, ain't no college boy ring costing no 6 grand????"....I replied back that it cost that much to get my (_,_) in position to buy one. He smiled back and had it for me when I extracted myself from that pond and got about 3 feet of water out from up my hiney...LOL

Still got it, till I die.

Antique...I like the "weathered" look of the ring then the antiquing begins to wear off.

Class of 92 and I'm already getting worn spots!

Antique!!! It looks really dark when you first get it, but will fade over time to look PERFECT.

After about two months both natural and rose look exactly the same. I still wonder why they offer both.

Being a basic three yards and cloud of dust type of guy I went with the antique. However I will in the near future will add a diamond that was part of my mom's engagement ring in honor of my father, who recently went home!
