If so, what two teams would be most attractive and realistically available?

Would conference schedule imbalance (6+2 instead of 5+3 when it comes to division) be a deal breaker?

Convince Iowa to leave the Big 10 (it would really be the big 10) and Arkansas to leave the SEC otherwise keep it at 12.

It wouldn't happen but there is not reason to just add 2 schools to take up space (i.e Cougar high, TCU, New Mexico, or Colorado St).

New Mexico and TCU would be my realistic choice

I didn't mention those teams as options. The Big 12 doesn't need to devalue itself by adding any non-BCS teams.

None of them bring anything to the table as far as prestige, financial status, fan support, media coverage, or athletic sucess. It would be a lose lose situation for the Big 12.

TCU and Nevada would make the most since I think. Although it would be fun to add New Mexico State and we could have the Battle of the Aggies every year.

Basically follows the Big 10/SEC formula of being made up of schools that are the top program in their states that everyone roots for.

The current Big 12 dilutes itself with redundant programs that, while occasionally decent in FB or BB, add/bring no new or large market value to the conference(ISU, KSU, OSU, TT, BU).

In this conference, Texas and Utah are the only states with 2 teams, Utah for BYU with their national follwing that Baylor could never hope to have and us simply because Texas is big enough and talent rich enough to have 2 teams.

This conference would rival both the SEC and Big 10 in strength and money making ability.

Kick out baylor, add arkansas....kick out ISU add TCU...arkansas gives the north some kick

Which would accomplish what? TCU at *best* would be as competitive as ISU in football and basketball.

Not to mention that another in-state Big 12 team would cause even MORE recruiting difficulties.

Some of you think TCU is a lot better than they really are -- if they were in the Big 12, they would be Baylor-esque.

Add Ark, TCU and LSU. Move OU and OSU to the North. Get rid of ISU. I would also like to get rid of CU and Gaylor. Due to geographic constraints I can't think of more worthy Universities. I would add a ULM or a U'll Laugh but I doubt LSU would allow them in the same conf.

I read somewhere that the Big 12 owns the rights to the name Big 14. This may happen one day, but who will join remains to be seen.

I have always believed that losing Arkansas (SWC) was big. Hog fans travel well and they produce a good team in all sports.

Send iowa st to the Big 10 and arkansas fills the north back up.
