Everyone is always complaining about how quiet Kyle Field has gotten, and while I definitely agree that winning would help solve that, I can't help but think how much louder it would be if we focused our energies on yelling while on defense. It only makes sense that we yell, and yell LOUD, while on defense. We cannot do the same (yell) to show our support for the offense (before the play), so why not use the towels then to show our support? If I'm misunderstanding this, I'm sure someone will enlighten me, but if not......

AGS ON DEFENSE - YELL LIKE CRAZY (and leave the towels down)
AGS ON OFFENSE - WAVE THAT TOWEL LIKE CRAZY, AND THEN YELL TO CELEBRATE!

It isn't so easy to see since 90% of the stadium isn't waving towels, but if a significant part of the crowd was towel-waving, it is distracting to the opposing QB.

Why do people wave towels in the first place? Are they just trying to get an arm workout while obstructing the vision of those in the row behind them?

I thought waving the towels was to cool the fan sitting next to you...I didn't realize it was the reason we've become an "also ran" in the Big 12 the past 5 years.
