Don't know why but I've gotten into the Revolution lately. I read Jeff Sahara's Rise to Rebellion and The Glorious Cause. I also just finished McCollugh's 1776.

Any other recommendations for reading. About two years ago a biography about Nat. Greene was released and there's a book entitled 'His Exellency' about George Washington. Has anyone here read either of them?

Thanks for the help.

I make July Revolution month, just like March is Texas History month.

Anything by Richard Ketchum, particularly Winter Soldiers

Heard good things about His Excellency by Joseph Ellis and have picked it up but have not read it yet. His Founding Brothers was very good, however.

I have not read it, but this is said to be the classic:

Ideological Origins of the American Revolution by Bernard Bailyn

It's more in the vein of history of ideas, if you're into that.

Try David McCulloch's biography of John Adams......... also Ron Chernow's Alexander Hamilton......... both deal with more than just the Revolution, but they are both excellent reads! Also try Joseph Ellis' Founding Brothers............

Read Brand's "First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin".
