I got a hangenschnitzel from Schwarzwalder. It's nice being back home for a while long enough to pull its' weights.

We got one when we visited Triberg back in 2017.

Carving in Triberg in the Black Forest | ****oo clocks

We liked different elements from different clocks, so he made one for us based on what we liked and shipped it to us.

Similar to this one, but with a buck, doe and fawn instead of boars.

Wow those are very nice! Mine is pretty much a run of the mill basic clock, but the accuracy is spot on.

Last summer I drove through the Amana Colonies in Iowa and Amana Furniture & Clock Shop had a really nice collection of cookoos for sale. If you're ever up that way I'd highly recommend visiting!

A friend who had previously visited the area told us about him, so we had saved up specifically to get one.
His craftsmanship is amazing. Some of his clocks are 3 ft wide, 2 ft tall, and have 3-4 rotation pieces/scenes in it. Those were a little out of our budget (lol), but were neat to look at.

Not sure if we'll be up that way, but thanks for the recommendation.

I have one inherited from my parents, who lived there in the early 60s. It hasn't worked in years, but I still like to look at it.

We are going to Germany next year for our 25th anniversary. The Black Forest is part of our itinerary. I might just come home with a new clock, or have one shipped home more preferably.

Very cool, Congrats on your silver jubilee!

If you happen to be located in the DFW metromess, I highly recommend Mack at the Clock Shop in Weatherford. He's repaired a few clocks for us including our cookoo. Excellent work for a fair price.

We celebrated our 50th last year by doing a Danube River cruise. We found a small Black Forest Alpine clock shop and a bought a custom very ornate clock. The wife always wanted one, so happy anniversary! They shipped it to us, but it took a few weeks, because manufacturing was shut down for summer break.

Very cool, sounds like it was a really fun adventure. Congrats on your Golden Anniversary!

It was awesome, there were 13 friends and family that joined us- including our grandboys. Lots of awesome memories. Thanks!
