A GI's eyewitness account of seeing Hitler escape Germany on Apr. 30, 1945. Maybe Argentina? Makes for a good story anyway.

I guess anything is possible but one would think the Nazis would not want any witnesses of Hitler's escape and would have shot this American prisoner as a witness.

For a long time I believed that the skull & jaw bones kept by the Russians were the real deal until DNA test results proved otherwise. The tests showed the skull belonged to a woman under 40 yrs. Eva Braun was age 33 at the time Germany fell.

We need a novelist to write about his escape, if it happened. No one wants to believe it did occur, or even if it might've, but then no one wanted to believe three prisoners escaped from Alcatraz in 1962, either. There is some mounting evidence it just might've happened. What if Hitler did make it out, speculate on his potential fate.

He never got out. One of the only decent things he ever did, was to die there.

Hitler survived the war, moved to Dallas and taught marksmanship to local youth. Prize pupil was Lee Oswald, who died last week. He taught Whitman how to shoot while attending UT on a Chess scholarship.

Hitler died in the bunker.
I believe this is true, but I also call anything the Russian FSB is involved with into question.

The Russians wanted him dead, if there was any indication that he might not have been they would have ripped that country apart looking for him and there is no indication that anything like that happened.

I believe he blew his brains all over that room in the bunker in April 1945. He died in Berlin.

That is the official version but he did rename his group the German National Socialist Worker Party.

He hated Russians and anybody who wasn't a German nationalist

After 20 years in Dallas he was ok with the Oswald kid and was a Cowboy fan. Loved Eddie Lebaron

Don't know of too many first hand accounts detailing the events in the 'Bunker'. I have to believe the versions of Hans Bauer, Heinz Linge and Rochus Misch until evidence proves otherwise.

I'll shoot this down even before we get to the mountains of evidence. I do this, because the "evidence" becomes irrelevant. Did the Soviets get the wrong skull fragament? It's possible, but this does not somehow mean he survived. Faulty evidence does not prove an alternative scenario widely beyond the realm of probability. Even if he'd tried to escape, he wouldn't have made it 3 days without his doctor and his pampering. A man on the run can't live on a vegan diet, for instance.

Hitler died in the bunker. The chances of making it out of Berlin safely were strongly against him and his whole history argues against him trying it. It's not even compatible with his personality. Expecting Hitler to run away, hide, and then stay silent is like expecting Donald Trump to say nice, pleasing things about people with whom he disagrees.

Oh, and "because some soldier said so" is meaningless.

Memo to everyone: The "Greatest Generation" also includes people who lie, steal, are ingrates, etc. It's not like there is some mystical halo that prevents them from being bad people.

I think he died in the bunker also. I'd like another independent source to verify it. The French and the Russians have a huge interest in saying the evidence they've shown is the TRUTH, not the "purported" skull of Hitler. But, then again, I'm a fan of Skeptic info.

One thing is extremely clear. No one among the allies knew for certain whether he died in that bunker, and no one among the allies could afford to take any chance on being publicly wrong about that.

He probably died there. I tend to believe most of the bunker survivors. But if he didn't, I guaranty you it was kept secret to this day

Good point. Even the Marine Corps has now admitted that John Bradley wasn't involved in raising the flag. Its no wonder he was so modest to the media and family about it, he didn't do it.
