I'm watching a show about Apollo 17 on Amazon Prime right now and one of the songs I heard playing over the radio (I think to wake up the guys on the moon) was the first verse of the War Hymn. Does anyone know the story behind that? Someone in mission control an Ag?

Yeah, we talked about it before. As Rabid Cougar said, it was an Aggie back at mission control who would make the astronauts listen to the War Hymn.
