Watched another documentary this morning. One of the biggest upsets in the history of warfare. Question I've always had is were did the British Army go after the battle?

Sorry, couldn't resist. But in regards to your question I honestly don't know. I'm curious now too.

Ship Island off Gulfport, Mississippi. This is where the British had established a staging area prior to going up the Mississippi. Fort Massachusetts is currently there. The British had 15,000 soldiers there at one time. If you even visit the NPS Park there it is mind boggling to think of that many men on that island .
