Can anyone recommend a good relatively unknown history book? I've read most of the "hits".

Can you be a bit more specific as to period, geographic area, area of interest? It helps to know whether you are interested in the Revolutionary war, the War of Northern Aggression, Tejano Independence, Roman Empire, etc.

Sorry I was in a hurry...I'm specializing in Modern Europe and I would love anything with post 1917 Russia or any WW2 books.

"The Savage Wars of Peace," by Max Boot. It is the story of America's small wars that has little presence in today's history books. It is a great book, easy read, and you will thank me later.
