10.2 mile run. Started early, steady pace, somehow it felt easy today.

Still too hot, but at least the dew point is under 60.

I was one mile into my 6 miler this morning when a 47 YO accomplished distance runner collapsed in front of me. As our group gathered around him, I and others began praying. The young woman I had just passed is an EMT. She began CPR immediately. Someone noticed that he had collapsed just outside the YMCA, and ran to retrieve their AED. He was perhaps gone briefly, but due to the ordained circumstances, the paddles brought him back. He was breathing when the ambulance arrived. Please pray for PN. Last I heard he was going to be okay. He was on mile 13 in brutal conditions, and perhaps had a massive cramp or electrical issue. To fall at the feet of an EMT within yards of an AED...wow. Needless to say, I'd had enough and just came home after that.

It was 81 degrees this morning at 7 a.m. with a heat index over 90. None of us have anything to prove. Praise God for each day. Hug someone you.love.

If the AED delivered a shock, it was detecting a non-perfusing ventricular rhythm (in other words, his heart stopped). Most likely a heart attack from an obstructed coronary artery, although other causes including severe electrolyte abnormalities are possible.

Yep. Surgery imminent.
