Anyone use these? The benefits look to be pretty impressive, but just not sure about any potential side effects.

No, I didn't even know these existed. I have been watching a bunch of videos of Dr. Jamnadas out of Florida. He talks a lot about insulin resistance being a root cause of high blood pressure as continuous levels of high insulin deplete the nitric oxide in the vascular system that, in turn, causes arterial stiffness.

Never heard of this hypothesis, however would explain why diabetes is so damaging to blood vessels. However I think diabetes tends to be more damaging to microvasculature and isn't always associated with high blood pressure.

I think there's low risk to supplements that support nitric oxide, like arginine or citrulline. Not sure if there are others, but I think the biggest risk is to your pocketbook.

Some people report benefits. I tried citrulline for a bit as I got it pretty cheap on sale. Didn't notice much benefit, maybe marginal increase in vascularity, but that's about it. Was not taking my BP regularly though. But I think the half life of most of these isn't that long. So you might only get a few hours out of each dose.

This was all the rage 10 years ago. NOxPlode, was a big one. I used it for awhile when I first got into lifting. All the legit research, if I remember correctly, shows that it does not provide any benefits. You do get better vascularity (veins popping) temporarily. It does not help your overall gains - either strength or muscle mass. Definite placebo effect back in the day. One day I stopped taking it and didn't lose any strength or muscle. Never took it again.

Thanks for the replies. I've seen these supplements advertised frequently on TikToc so I wasn't sure if there were really any benefits to it.

The general rule of thumb is there aren't any. The only supplement that I have seen legit research that works is creatine. If you are in the gym game long enough, you'll see stuff come and go. For awhile, I used to try everything. Gakic was absolutely the worst. Tasted like bile.

NO explode is an equivalent to whatever they give you before a colonoscopy. That stuff was explosive, pun intended

Creatine is literally the best. Most active people should be taking it.

I take tadalafil for just this reason. No ED issues, just to boost NO2 and reduce blood pressure (original use of the drug). I take 5 MG daily.

Why? You eat right and enough it is completely unnecessary.

MRI's NO2 has been out since 2004. Can't say that I remember any specific gains from it and it was expensive back in the day.

Nope. Why do you think everyone should be taking it instead of eating plenty of lean meat?

Anecdotally because it's life changing. The science also completely validates that and talks about the improvements beyond just increases in energy and volume in muscle cells, specifically things like cognitive improvement.

You can absolutely get your fill of creatine from lean meats but it is much harder to achieve for a normal person. This is coming from a person that eats 90% elk/venison/other lean meat and has been on creatine for the better part of 15 years.

NutraBio Creatine is what I prefer. I have used some cheaper versions in the past but they don't blend as well and can be a little coarse if mixing with water.

There have some recent podcasts about the potential cognitive benefits of creatine as well.

Huberman had one as did Gabrielle Lyon. There is a guy in Canada doing a lot of the research, and he made the podcast circuit a couple of months back.

Consensus is creatine monohydrate is the form people need to be taking.

Given how inexpensive it is and the potential upsides and essentially no downsides to taking it, it seems like a no-brainer.

I buy from Bulk Supplements. $28 for 2.2 lbs on Amazon.

I typically put it in my overnight oats every morning, but on the occasion I forget, I've had no issue adding it to water.
