I have had lower back surgery and am now in the PT rehab part of the process. They have had me using a reclining stepper machine which really helps loosen up my back, but they're $3K+ to purchase and that's a nonstarter. My wife purchased a vintage Schwinn Airdyne AD3 years ago in an estate sale so I took it out of storage and have been trying to use it. Problem is that it hurts my "sit down bones" after about 12 minutes of use. Adjusted the seat height and tilted it slightly nose up a little which helped, but now the nose is rustling the jimmies.

Tried out an "oversized" seat off of Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NVR9Y7F?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 that shifted all the weight to the perineum, so that lasted about 2 minutes.

Google research suggests that I get a narrow saddle and some bike shorts, but that seems like it would only aggravate the perineal issues. Amazon searches offer up conflicting reviews on every bike seat search I've performed.

My question - how does one find a comfortable exercise bike seat? Noseless & extra wide make the most sense to me, but most internet advice tells me to go narrow and to use biker shorts. Anyone have some thoughts on how to identify a good choice?

My favorite saddle ever was one like one of these on my tri bike. https://shop-us.ismseat.com/. Couple that with some good shorts and you are golden. Check out FB marketplace for takeoff saddles for some good deals
