Well, I am about to eat for the first time in 72 hours. I decided to try the 72 hour (84 hour if I wanted to not eat until the morning) fast. I didn't take any measurements, not even a photo or weighed myself because I need to lose like 30-40 lbs but just some FYI for those thinking about trying it.
I am late 40's. about 250 lbs. Should be at about 200-205. Generally healthy. Workout 2-3 times a week or play golf. My weight has gone from 230 to 250 this year so decided enough was enough. I didn't want to go buy new clothes as I was almost there.
Last meal was Saturday about 8:00 PM. At deer lease so surprisingly had some salad, steak, potatoes, and bread budding for dessert with ice cream. I didn't decide to do this until the way home on Sunday morning as I have had only water and listened to Gary Brecka episode on Joe Rogan. Wasn't hungry so just drove home, although I almost stopped at Buccees for there protein snacks.
Sunday - never got hungry until dinner time, but pushed through and went to bed. So first day wasn't bad as I have done some fasting (rarely eat breakfast). But wasn't easy that night.
Monday - woke up with a headache that never went away. Hungry, hangry, and just tried to watch football. Only water with some Mio electrolytes. Got a massage with helped I think. Then took a bath about 6 as I was miserable. Hungry, headache and sore. Some stomach acid reflux. I pushed through even thought my wife got Popeye's chicken (Seriously) for kids. I did have about have a cup of Bone Broth. This helped a little but not much. Went to bed feeling slightly better. Slept okay. I take Magnesium Theronate every night.
Tuesday - woke up feeling much better but still hungry but headache was gone. Had to work so that helped keep my mind off eating. Feeling much better and better throughout the day. Feel best now as type this.
I could go until tomorrow morning but want to eat a small dinner (avocados and chicken) just so I sleep better.
My craving for sugars and carbs has kind of gone away. I am craving MEAT!
I will try the more keto/carnivore diet the next week or longer and report back.
I would recommend this for those needing a kick start to losing weight. I don't feel euphoria like some folks have said on social media but I feel much better. Feel lean, clear, and motivated. And definitely have lost 8-10 lbs I am guessing with half that at least water weight I'm sure.
But now my Stem cells are recharged, and have 70% less chance of getting cancer, Alzheimer's, etc. (joking of course but some online content say this).
