Cross Post from Outdoors, my wife told me to post here, also, never been but see cycle posts
Howdy, we have two recumbent delta style trikes we love. Front tires are 16 X 1.5 and back tires are 20 X 1.5. Wanting to replace worn tires, got into bike tire sizing and am trying to understand all the bike tire sizing stuff. Question: I want to replace the 16 X 1.5 with a much more common 16 X 1.75, have room in the fork. The question is will the wider tire fit the rim of the wheel. Same with rear tires would like to go wider. I can find lots of information on tires and tubes but really nothing that addresses the fit of the tire to the rim width of the wheel. This entire bike tire size business is kinda out of hand. Oilfield tubular sizing much more straight forward.
Thanks!
