Any recipes you like to make when you have ripe bananas? Figured I would post here instead of the food forum with the addition of protein powder to the recipe is more of a health and fitness thing

I make this shake quite a bit...

Vanilla Whey - 1 or 2 scoops depending on much protein/calories I want
PB Powder - up to you how much again based on calories desired & how much PB taste desired
Cocoa Powder
Ripe Banana
Almond milk - up to you how much depending on how thick you like it
handful of ice cubes

blend.... enjoy.

Seen a few recipes online and that was my thinking, but dang it takes so long to scroll down until you find the ingredients list to make sure you have it all.

that is my pet peeve. I don't need to know about your ancestors coming over on the mayflower and how you can remember the smell of your great mamaw's oven on a sunday morning before church. Just give me the f-ing recipe and ingredients.

Here is my go-to banana bread recipe.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 large)
2 cups AP flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup pecans
Cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to taste

Cream butter, add sugar gradually, mixing well. Add eggs one at a time. Add bananas and mix until smooth. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to wet mixture, stirring well. Add pecans. Pour into 9x5x3 pan and bake at 350 F for about an hour to an hour and 10 min.

You can modify and make it "healthier" by cutting back on the sugar (or using coconut sugar), adding flaxseed or chia seeds, or adding almond flour or something like that. I'm not a big fan of almond flour for baking bread, though.

I also really like banana nut and banana/blueberry/lemon pancakes. Just mash up one banana into the pancake batter.

My son just chopped up a bunch of speckled bananas and put them in the freezer for smoothies.

The Mega Protein Shake!

1 - Banana
3 - Strawberries
2 - scoops of whey (chocolate)
1 - large TBSP of Peanut Butter
1 - TBSP of Honey
2 - cups of coffee
1 - cup of whole or 2% milk
1 - cup of oats/oatmeal
1 - individual yogurt

The coffee barely keeps you awake but it's an awesome breakfast shake! Do not make this if you're not burning a significant amount of calories a day, unless you're just trying to gain weight.

I like to freeze them and use instead of ice in a protein shake. Lay a sheet of parchment, wax paper, Saran wrap, etc. on a cookie sheet and slice bananas into discs. Let them freeze solid and then store in a Ziploc or other container.

For a base recipe:

1 ripe banana
1 cup oatmeal

In addition to these, I've added combinations of these at different times:

Cinnamon
Almond butter
Peanut butter
Chocolate chips
Protein powder

15 minutes at 325.
