It has officially gotten too cold for my regular running gear here in Houston (I'm a wuss I know). What cold weather running gear do y'all like? I would like some type of jacket/pull over that is breathable that I can wear over my regular stuff. I would also like some gloves because I hate my hands being cold. Any good recommendations?

I wear a long sleeve compression top until it gets really cold and then I wear a thicker compression top with similar pants and gloves. gloves are the hardest things for me to get right.

right now i'm still running in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. prob getting close to breaking out the long sleeve tech shirts. once it gets a little colder, gloves and a hat come into play. in texas, i rarely get past that. if it does get below freezing for a run, i'll add a second layer over a tech tee. sometimes just a second shirt, sometimes a very light jacket.

my wife runs in a lot warmer stuff b/c she's always cold.

Covering ears and hands are most important to me. I'll run in a long sleeve shirt and shorts with glove/hat until it gets below freezing

Usually throw some tights on underneath my running shorts and long sleeve tech shirts. Maybe a light jacket. If it is realllllly cold, a beanie and gloves come into play

I'm bald, so head heat is always an issue for me. My order of clothing is

Shorts
Tank
T-shirt instead of tank

These two are interchangeable:
Long sleeve t instead of short
Thin beanie cap

Thin gloves
Thin pants
Fleece lined shirt
Running tights.

Factors that come into play are in order:
Temperature
Sun- Can make up for twenty degrees temperature pretty easily.
Wind

How long is my run?
Four miles or less and I'll dress warmer. Longer and I'll wear less. I dress to be comfortable in the middle off my run, not the beginning.

Intervals. I don't want to overheat. It can be twenty degrees and dark and I'll wear a t shirt, beanie, and gloves. Runs like this need layers to wear during the warm up and cool down.

I'm pretty much in line with everyone else here. Shorts and a T-shirt until it gets below 40. Long sleeve T-shirt plus cheap gloves if it is in the 30s. I'll wear a hat if it's really windy or if I'm running slow.
If it's race day, even if it's 30 degrees I'll wear nothing more than shorts and a T-shirt - I'll wear a pair of old socks on my hands and a bandana on my head that I ditch at the first clothing drop or trash can. Oh, and strategically placed Band-Aids.

I'm sort of a Sally when it comes to the cold weather, even though I love it, so I wear a light fleece pullover if it's much below 50. Closer to 40 and I add a light head band to keep the wind off of my ears and some gloves. I usually end up pulling the fleece off 30-45 minutes into the run, but I don't mind having it tied around my waist. I always run in shorts, but I've been looking into some winter compression tights to try out.

Depends on if it's windy and how cold. For low 40s and little wind like they're predicting this weekend, I may go with a long-sleeve tech shirt but likely will still short-sleeve it. Thought about tech-material gloves, too, but it seems irrelevant: my hands stay cold all the time anyway, so why bother? I only wear a toque if it's at or below freezing.

What kind of bands do y'all wear on your ears? Beanies make my head too hot, and ear muffs look weird.

I have a light weight Nike drifit band that I stole from my wife. It's not much but it keeps wind off the ears which helps dramatically for me.

A plain old sweat band like you'd see in the nba, but worn over the ears, is usually enough and doesn't get too hot. I need ear cover under 60*, but I can go n into the 30's with just a T-shirt, gloves and ear cover. I have a thicker ear band thing if it gets colder than that. And I'll usually go wind vest before I go long sleeves.

Wind and sun make a huge difference though. In full sun and no wind in could easily go low 30's with just t-shirt, gloves, and light ear cover. Low 30's but overcast humid and windy: sleeves, vest, gloves, thick ear cover, and probably tights.
