I got in Sunday afternoon. Felt weird to register a year ahead of time.

On the fence. It's just so damn crowded! This was the second straight year I was denied entry into my corral. I mean I don't want to enter my corral 30+ minutes before the start and sit on my ass in the cold. But apparently trying to enter corral B 10 minutes before the start is too late. They wouldn't allow entry even though there was PLENTY of room. Instead the made us go to C which was insanely overflowing.

I mean why have corrals at all??

Early entry closed. Lottery starts in June.

Lottery is gone. The race will just have normal sign ups later after charity and time qualifiers.

I haven't done any other races this big, but I'm sure there's some "science" to the corral system. Corral A closed at 6:40, so it was only 20 minutes. If all corrals stayed open right up to the start, there would be a logjam of people trying to line up at the same time.

Yeah 20 minutes before is pretty standard. I've seen some as early as 30 minutes.

It was tons better than standing around for nearly an hour during the staggered start in San Antonio a few years ago.
