ouch...
wasn't in shape... didn't train... didn't know what to expect...
it was closer to 14 miles than 13... somewhere over 30 obstacles
200 ft into the race... running through a water trench and climbing up a mud hill... drenched and caked in mud on exit
i'm thinking to myself... 13+ more miles of this crap?
about 6 miles into it... army crawling underneath about 150 ft of barbed wire...muddy... and some volunteer pelting my backside down with icy cold pond water from a firehose... i'm curled up fetal style wandering 'what the hell was i thinking??'
i saw 3 people that left the race due to medical issues
the race itself was pretty cool... very well marketed... trail & obstacles were well thought out...rough creek lodge is incredible...
but a 43 year old with 4 kids... maybe not the race for me... IF i did it again, i'd do the recommended training that they send out over email
haven't been this sore in a long time...
my only consolation on saturday was watching johnny win the heisman
