Considering embarking on a medically supervised partial fasting plan administered by Scott & White Clinic-4 X 100 calorie Nutrimed shakes, soups, or breakfasts daily, one Healthy Choice meal or equivalent for supper +300 cal of veggie snacks=about 1100 calories/day with at least 45 minutes exercise daily.

I'm ready to commit the time, effort, and $$$ for this project which should enable me to shed about 80 or more pounds in a year.

For those of you who are in or have completed this-does the weight stay off? (obviously you have to train yourself not to return to your old ways) Any negative experiences during the program?

This seems ridiculously low unless you are a 5 foot tall 100 pound girl who doesn't exercise

How long are you supposed to eat that few calories?

Thats not that low. But why would you go nutrimed? There are cheaper and easier methods.

I could be wrong cause I'm far from an expert, but I would think that with ANY plan, it is going to be what you do after you reach your goal that determines if the weight stays or goes.

I think the problem is that some diets people use to get there are so far from maintainable that when they get to where they want to be, they've not really got anywhere to go for maintainability so they start doing what got them in bad place to begin with.

As far as practical advice, I would think the more maintainable your actually diet approach (as in, the least you have to change it to make it an actually lifestyle and not simply a means to an end weight loss wise) the more chance it has of lasting long term.

Just my opinion, of course.

I agree with some of the other posters. Why go on that plan and pay for their food? THere are some great plans out there where you make your own food and are much cheaper. Sr. Gomez brings up a good one.

You are setting yourself up for failure (trust me, I know).

I was on a Nutrimed Fast for 12 weeks at 5 shakes a day (5 x 80 cal = 400 ca/day total). I lost a lot of weight, but it is not sustainable.

Everyone I know who has been on the program has gained their weight back. You have to make a more permanent, sustainable change.
