What size jack do I need for my Tahoe?

Looking to get a jack so I can perform routine maintenance. I've also got a Honda Accord and will soon (inside 6 months) have a pickup.

I use a 3-ton truck jack for my truck and Tahoe and a smaller one for my wife's car.

Three-ton is pretty good, 2 would work. Curb weight is around 5200 pounds (2.6 tons) and you only pick up one end or even one corner at a time.

Get some quality jackstands if you are getting under it.

I used a 3 ton under my Suburban, worked like a champ!

Make sure you get some good weight rated jack stands. I know a guy who had his crew cab fall on him 2 weeks before a truck show late at night... scary!
