Which site gets more usage? Any experience selling on either?

I did a little comparison and did a search on cars.com using the exact same criteria that I'm using right now to find a new vehicle and it came back with two results. - One very good one though, I might have to go look at it. - Autotrader usually comes back with 15 or more.

As for listing a vehicle, I'd go with Autotrader. I can't give you site specific numbers but I would think it's safe to assume that it gets more traffic.

I bought a car from a private seller on Autotrader. I searched for several months on both Autotrader and Cars.com. Autotrader had many more listings (I was searching nationally). Cars.com had higher quality cars - fewer crappy looking used car dealers - and higher asking prices.

If I were listing to sell - I'd list on Autotrader. If you are selling a luxury or specialty car it might be worth considering Cars.com.

If your car is something desirable a buyer will look in both places anyway.
