I'd say between $7-9K depending on who's selling and condition.

If it's in good shape $8500 is probably a good price.

And I don't know how much to value a "newer" truck over my 1992. My 1992 still does great and I can fix it when something goes wrong, but it does have 285K+ on it.

Figure out what you'd be willing to pay for it.

Then offer less than that and see what he's willing to let it go for...

when the numbers match, you've made a deal.

...it's called bargaining.
