I need to get my car inspected, but I have an oil pressure sensor light on and apparently a high fuel Pressure (Secondary) sensor that likes to go on/off from time to time.

This shouldn't fail me on emissions testing/passing for inspection, correct?

Planning on changing oil pressure sensor, but since this is on a Pacifica, I get to rip 2/3 of the intake off to get to it. So timing is key and I haven't had time.

TIA

I don't think oil pressure will.
The car knows if it passes. Pretty sure all the shop does is plug their computer into the OBD2 and ask if it's passing emissions.

I've been told that any car with a 'check engine' light will not pass. But I'm no expert. I just took in 3 cars for emissions county required inspections and was told that each time. (they ask if a check engine light is on so they don't charge you or do an inspection when they already know it will fail)

Get a cheap code reader from Amazon and clear the codes. They should stay off for a day or so

CEL won't pass as far as I know. I always worried about my old Porsche with a full modified exhaust not passing, but it always did. Never again. 25 yrs old now.

I believe if the drive monitors aren't reset you won't pass. clearing the codes means you'd have to drive to pass all the monitors again and the codes will return

With you there. Glad my 99 and 67 cars are just rubber stamped now via internet.

i don't see anything about oil, but the fuel pressure issue maybe?

that's not going to work. the system have to be "ready" to be tested.

"Changing the monitor(s) to "READY" The vehicle needs to be driven in a pattern that causes the system to set the monitors to "Ready". The drive patterns or "drive cycles" for your vehicle should be available from your vehicle service advisor (dealership) or a qualified vehicle service technician."

Depending on the vehicle, that could be 500 miles. Buddy has a Corvette, and told me ready-state involved a 500 mile drive.

Usually it is closer to 50-100 miles.

Still really stupid to just go off the light alone if that is policy. There are numerous CEL codes that have nothing to do with safety or emissions. I suspect if they bother they can check if it is an emissions affecting P code as they are standardized, and only certain ones matter.

Reset my computer this morning before going to work.

Work is 39 miles one way. Hit the inspection place on the way home near my house. Torque app told me I had gone 76 miles since CEL reset.

Passed inspection.

Think I did that on my old Boxster once and it worked.
