So, I've been working hard to link my truck to my garage opener. Actually taking way too much time.

The sequence, backed by AI is to clear the remote, push the "Learn" button on the Chamberlain Opener then push the desired button on the truck roof 3 times to sync.

Won't sync. Tried many times.

I have a Chamberlain hand held remote that is synced to Cindy's side. Works for her side but won't sync to my side.

If I can get the hand held to sync to the Chamberlain opener, then I can sync the hand held to the Chamberlain opener.

But the Opener won't sync with the hand held.

But wait, there's more!

My wife's car will open her side or my side.

I'll try the hard reset again to clear any stubborn codes out of the Chamberlain Opener on my side. But it seems it just doesn't want to accept codes.

Thoughts?

I gave up trying to train the LX570, but the clicker fits perfectly in the ash tray.

its hard to follow what exactly are you trying to do. seems like you are talking about HomeLink at the beginning but then complaining about remotes.

Don't use AI, use the manufacturers requirements and guides.

if using homelink, reset/clear the codes and reprogram completely. That requires a reset on your visor and perhaps clearing your chamberlain. Find the user manual for your specific chamberlain model online and follow those instructions.

I fully reset my openers (both homelink and phyiscal remotes) and doors last weekend (although i have liftmaster and genie) and it took less than 10 minutes to do 2 doors and 2 vehicles.

I had a similar issue with mine this past year.

The problem was that I'd reached the limit for the number of openers I could sync. We'd programmed so many cars/devices to it over the years, and cars we didnt have any longer were still stored in the device I guess.

I had to clear all the codes from the opener, and then re-sync all my openers (cars, handhelds, key pad).

Was a pain, but worked for me.

Last time it took about 5 minutes. I followed the Chamberlain page as well as the AI recs. They were pretty much the same. I've tried syncing to both a remote and my truck. If you can get the remote to sync, then you can sync the remote to the truck and by proxy the truck will sync.

I ordered a late model remote from Amazon and will see if it syncs to the Chamberlain and then to my truck.

My wife was helping me yesterday and that could've been the problem…

I had this issue with mine as well.

The way I always got it to work was go somewhere away from your home and you teach the car to learn the handheld remote so the car knows what "language" to talk. Then you need to sync the car to the opener

you have to hit the learn button on the ceiling unit in a specific sequence

I haven't had issues programming the vehicles, but the additional remotes have been a PITA. I have four remotes that were provided when we bought the house only two work and could never get the other two programmed so I'm hesitant to buy additional generic remotes on Amazon.

We have a liftmaster driveway gate and a genie garage opener. Homelink in my truck was easy to program using one of the working remotes, but I've never been able to get the spare remotes to program. Wife and son's cars don't have homelink so they use remotes, but I would like to get a remote for my mom when she comes to visit.
