It won't unlock.. never seen this.

Neither by key or key fob. Can't open from inside. When you hit the key fob unlock it's trying to it moves slightly but it won't engage.

I put lubricant inside the thing and it does help the key go in and out and it's wiggling but it when I try to turn it I can feel something's blocking it.

Any tips?

And yes I do want to take it to the mechanic by my wife is insisting that she meet her commitment that she has today...

Correction she said she pushed it down manually then pushed back up and it unlocked

Not sure it's the same for Buick, but door lock actuators are a common failure on Toyota vehicles. I've had them go out on a 2013 Tundra and a 2014 Highlander. When they failed for me, key fob wouldn't work but using an actual key did and they could also be manually locked/unlocked. I replaced the entire lock assemblies myself after watching some YT videos. Wasn't difficult but had to remove the door liner panels.

I assume your problem may not be the actuator itself since your key also isn't working but it sounds like there may be something broken inside the assembly so the whole thing may need to be replaced.
