My 2002 Accord isn't terribly comfortable so I found a new highway cruiser to rack up miles, a 2005 LS. 59,000 miles, pretty much pristine and even has an aftermarket touch screen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and a backup camera.





Unfortunately I couldn't convince the trucker to drop off the Carrera GT as well.

The LS was a popular model with my Sales Reps in Los Angeles back in 2005.

I don't know how you found a 20 year old car with less than 3,000 miles/yr. Wow!

This one was apparently a woman's car that she owned since it was new until she recently passed away. Kind of the ideal used vehicle, low miles but still driven regularly and taken well care of

I have 68K on mine. Uncle bought it for my aunt and she drove it until 2020 when they decided they could share one car.

It does. Makes me nervous that it's the original.

There's a place called Tanin JDM that's buying up all the LS430s and restoring them and charging an arm and a leg for them.

I knew the original LS 400's were well-built, but didn't realize the fanatical level of detail that went into the development. Spring-loaded front turn signal markers to reduce gaps for better aero drag and noise levels? That's impressive.

One small thing that's cool about these: oscillating climate vents. Having air monotonously blown at you isn't luxurious so the center vents move back and forth to waft cool air around the cabin

New timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, crank seal, radiator, engine mounts, trans and diff fluid. Hopefully a buy once cry once situation, now it will get some miles. Drives like a new car, smooth and very quiet.

Did you pick this up on bring a trailer?

I bid on one in Houston a month or so ago and should have kept going. Another one came up I few weeks ago but I missed it. I've been looking at these lately thinking hard about picking one up.

I did not DIY so I don't know. I bet it could have gone longer, I see lots of 430's well into the 100-150k mile range with original belts, I just didn't want to take a chance.

When you get ready to change yours let me know, I have some parts in the freezer I'll give you. I had an old man tan 05 LS. I swapped the original belt at 150k miles and it looked new. I would pretend it's been changed as long as you can. Not a very hard job though when you decide to do it.
