Factory tires are pushing 40,000 miles and I'm trying to decide on the replacements. I have a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 4x4 with 22" rims and I'm looking at the following 4 options:

Nitto Terra Grappler G3
Nitto Recon Grappler A/T
Yokohama Grolandar X-AT
BF Goodrich T/A KO3

Thoughts or other suggestions?

If mostly pavement but want some off-road looks, Terra Grappler G3.

I've done these for my trucks before, but I'm looking for something with a little more aggressive tread.

Also, I'm looking to kick up the size to 285/50R22 and Michelin doesn't seem to offer a tire in this size.

Recon grapplers are great. Except in snow and rain. Skip em.

They are quiet and nice to look at and Great in dry conditions.

I'm 12k into a set and they just slip way too much in DFW rain. 4wd offsets their slippage. But it's annoying .

What about Toyo open country at3?

Another vote for terra grapplers. I have had a set of each generation and they all have lasted 60k+ miles without issue.

Yokohama X-AT were great on my '06, I would've gotten them again for my F150 if they offered size I wanted in P-rated. Of the tires on your list, that would undoubtedly be my choice.

I see the size you're after is only offered in load range E. That wheel/tire assembly is going to be extremely heavy and be a very firm ride. Given the cost of those tires in that size, you could buy new smaller aftermarket wheels (lighter and look better) paired with new tires for about the same cost.

I have the BF Goodrich ko3 tires. I love their look and they have lasted 22k miles with enough room to make it to 45k. That said. They suck in the rain and mud. They are good on gravel/rock though. Haven't been in any sand.

Cooper Discoverer ATP 2 or 3. Best all terrain bang for buck that last 50K miles easy.

Toyo Open Country

I just put 33x12.5r22 Toyo AT3 on my 26 Ram 250 and very happy so far. Love the look and ride.

I was going to recommend the Falken Wildpeaks as well, but they aren't made in the size he is looking for.

ETA: the Falken tire chart for them shows them coming in that size in Q3 2026, but it will be an E rated tire. Unless you are towing or hauling a lot of weight, I would avoid them for the hit to the ride quality and gas mileage. The do have XL rated Wildpeaks in 285/45R22 available now and will have them in 275/50R22 in Q4 2026.

I ran the Falken Wildpeak AT3W and AT4W on my 4Runner for years and those are great tires. They are heavy though, but a great choice. As someone else said, doesn't help OP though.

With 22" wheels on a Denali, I would assume you're driving pretty much exclusively on pavement. If that's the case, the two best options in the size you want are the Nitto Terra Grappler G3 and the Yokohama Geolandar G015. If you do some light off-roading, the Toyo Open Country A/T III is also a good option. Most of the other tires available in the size you want trade off too much pavement performance for off-road capability.

Thank you all for the feedback. I think I've settled on the Nitto Terra Grappler G3s. Seems like a good compromise and can't argue with the lower price and extra warranty mileage.

I'm prob gonna try the Yoko Geolander AT4s on my next set. I'm estimating a year left or less on my current Michelins. .

Anyone have experience with Nokian Outpost?

I love the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail, have them on both the L322s. Smooth, quiet, never given me trouble on the limited offroad stuff that we do. Great in the rain.
