First things first….it's a company car that I have had about 5 months.

The issue is the sensitivity. It has mostly just been an annoyance where the red heads-up display light comes on and my seat vibrates.

It will happen randomly when it senses things that are not really there. However today kinda pissed me off. I was just entering the highway, going about 65 with very little traffic when a brown paper lunch bag was blowing across the road about 50 yards ahead of me…this time the light came on, seat vibrated…but this time the brakes auto engaged and dropped me down under 30 mph before releasing. It's freaking dangerous as hell.

Has anyone had issues with this in an Equinox or other Chevy vehicles? I haven't researched if I can disable it yet but also not sure I should even if I can with it being a company car.

You should be able to turn it off. I turned it off in my Mercedes sprinter because it was annoying.

You can adjust the distance with the steering buttons. The you can adjust the intervention type on the radio screen

I set the distance to minimum and it hasn't been a real issue in my (also company) vehicle (only had it a month though). The adaptive cruise control worked great on I-45 down to conroe this weekend (until of course stop and go traffic because I-45). Overall the vehicle is miles better than the predecessor model/generation imho, though it does feel quite a bit wider for some reason, imho.

I try to turn all of the nanny gizmo's to their least annoying setting (also lane monitoring). I do find the wiper controls highly annoying.
