Didn't that give way to all kinds of dumb regulatory rules for auto makers including bringing on the DEF/EGR rules for diesels?

Big win if you ask me.

I just want to know when I can buy a new powerstroke that doesn't have def or an egr

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt manufacturers will spend the time to drop that out of their manufacturing lines with the chance the next administration finds a way to bring all the regs back.

Did folks complain when leaded gas was phased out? I know it led to a generation or slow cars.

I hope most manufacturers offer a software update that'll keep start/stop off when you push the button

All of that crap is probably the engineering departments dream from an employment standpoint. That regulatory junk probably permanently employs hundreds on every powertrain line.

Cost will be the only determinant to drop it. The first automaker that realizes they can shave (wild a__ guess numbers) $5K off the window sticker will bite and the rest will follow. But no doubt it'll come with layoffs.
