Chrysler recalls over 450,000 vehicles. See impacted models.

Key 2026 Ram Recall Details:

Trailer Tow Module (Fire/Brake Risk): A recall announced in February 2026 affects 2025-2026 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, along with 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S and 2026 Jeep Cherokee models. Improperly designed trailer tow modules may cause trailer brakes to fail or stop lights from illuminating, increasing crash risk.

A quick search showed -- In 2024, GM issued a recall affecting approximately 721,000 trucks and SUVs due to potential engine failures related to the 6.2-liter V8 engine.

Ford is recalling over 355,000 trucks, including the 2025 F-150 and 2025-2026 Super Duty models, due to a defect in the instrument panel display that may fail to show critical information.

------

I don't think any manufacturer is immune to recalls these days.

I really like my Ram and wouldn't hesitate (especially with the longer warranty) to buy another.

I never thought I would say this, but the Ram trucks are getting my attention due to the increasingly superior reliability and longevity prospects of their drivetrains.

I am becoming increasingly convinced that they are all the same and its mostly up to your driving and maintenance habits as to how long a vehicle will last.

But for the style and features you like and get an extended warranty. They are all the same reliability wise now.

Trucks are trash now so get the one with the 10-yr warranty.

It's a no brainer to get the RAM and it also looks better than all the others.

If you don't do the ford recall. You don't get an alert in the dash. If you don't do the Dodge recall, It burns your house to the ground. There is no planet in this universe where I could find it acceptable to choose a Dodge truck over my Fords.

According to consumer reports, the problems with the Rams are mostly with the electronics/infotainment. The 10 year warranty is great, but it doesn't cover the main source of the gremlins.

I'm probably about to buy a Ram for the first time in my life. I think they look the best, and everyone has issues now so might as well take the warranty.

that 10 year warranty is on drivetrain and engine. probably a reason it is that long as that portion is not breaking. Now the electronics is where i would be worried on any new vehicle now days.

So dumb.

This is about as intelligent the senile old man in the corner at the bar drooling on himself lamenting the days of segregation.

You can just say you are ignorant to trucks today and don't like better styling for a cheaper price than your Ford that will break down shortly.

Sorry you feel that way. You may be right that I don't know trucks. I'm my own garage mechanic of 31 years. All of my personal cars and trucks across model years 1970 to 2024, gasoline and diesel, plus similar vintage ag equipment as needed. I am by no means a career mechanic. I mess with cars and trucks because I enjoy them.

Here's a pic of my buddy's Dodge from a couple weeks ago.

Chrysler has had fire concerns since the vintage in the picture and currently has recalls of the same concern, does it make good sense to get it anyway?

I don't think so but YMMV.

I must also disagree with your point that i should spend less money on something I consider to be of lesser quality simply because it's styled better. Although I will concede that the truck below did look very nice shortly before the picture was taken

A lot to unpack in that picture. I don't know if he's on really good terms with his insurance agent or on really bad terms with his significant other

I posted a thread on this in December but you can get 15k off MSRP on 1500 Hemis. Don't be afraid to push if they're playing hardball.

I bought a Ram 1500 Laramie in November after owning two Titans for the last 15 years. I loved my Nissans, but the Ram is a big step forward in tech and comfort. I really like the 3.0L Hurricane motor.

Here's an OTD quote that Mark Dodge shot me last week on a 1500 Lone Star/Big Horn with a hemi (and the night package), before any negotiations on my end:

MSRP $63,535
Sale Price $49,535 + $3096 (tx taxes) + $795 (title/reg fees) = $53426 drive out

I'm planning to wait until summer to buy, but that's a good reference for a starting point.

That amount off is close to where I landed with the CDJR in Frisco. Mark Dodge is pretty notorious for not haggling much off their Internet sales but I'd be interested to hear if you have success.

If you're traveling to pick up, or shipping, get a quote from Matt Bowers in Baton Rouge.

A longer warranty doesn't really give you the warm and fuzzies when it's in the shop every 2-4 weeks for repeated electrical issues and you're hiring a lawyer for lemon law because stellantis denied your claim. (My buddy going through this now)

Had a 2019 Limited with the Hemi and now a 2025 with the twin turbo.

No comparison - get the turbo. The Hemi is nothing but marketing as it isn't very powerful.

I test drove both last month; Hemi is a dog compared to the Hurricane. That thing can fly

I test drove both and you're not wrong. My only counter is around reliability. You really only have the Wagoneer to look to for that engine and these turbo six designs are having issues all over the place.

That probably matters less with a 10/100k year limited powertrain warranty but I couldn't get comfortable with it. I'm also a sucker for the v8 rumble.

Has anyone on the board had experience with the tungsten edition ram?

I'm beginning my search to replace my 2016 f-150 with 5.0.
I assumed I would get a new ford, but I'm seriously looking at the ram tungsten instead of f150 platinum.

My dad has a 2025 king ranch that I've driven quite a bit. It's nice, but the tungsten I sat in seemed better looking and more comfortable to me. Also that 6 cyl twin turbo is just more powerful.

Whats crazy is a Lone Star/Big Horn commands a stick of 63K to begin with.

And I'm not criticizing, I've got one myself. Just miss the days of a mid level truck for mid 30Ks.
