Looking at getting a new rig and want extended warranty. It's a Ford.

One dealership is offering $5,200 for 7year 100k bumper to bumper.

What are some of the other options out there? I think there have been a few discussed on this site.

First thing, there ain't no such critter as a "bumper-to-bumper" warranty. The fine print says so.

Second: The deal I got last week from Ford was $4800 for a 7 year/ 125,000. Pretty much the same ballpark. I don't typically get extended, but gambled this time after hearing the stories on TexAgs about all the problems with the newer vehicles.

that's what I meant.

Granger was referred to me also. They've 1/2 what these other dealerships are quoting me.

Ford premium Care from the ford dealership or another dealership which specializes in selling the ford warranty regardless of where you buy the vehicle. There can be a huge markup depending on the dealership so beware and price it. In 24 I got a 4 yr, 125,000 mile ford premium warranty for about 2,500 on a F150 4x4.

I can buy this from them to get "incentives" on other stuff then turn right around and cancel it and then repurchase elsewhere for cheaper ?

when I got one on my last car I had shopped around & told them (Dealership) I'd found a better deal online - and they matched it almost 100%

They ended up getting me the same deal no warranty.

Looks like extended warranty is back on the menu boys.

8k off sticker for a f250 feels good.

Factory extended warranties are negotiable. You can usually talk a dealership down to about half what they want to charge. If not, buy from another Dealership that will sell it to you for that price. You have several thousand miles to acquire one.

Granger for the win if you want manufacturer warranty. Super easy process and by far the cheapest last year when I was in the market.

I used Zeigler when purchasing my last F150. Was great!

Did you end up already getting the new truck?

Buying it out of state is kind of a pain as they don't use docusign.

Literally got the overnight paperwork just now that I've got to wet-sign and get back. Then they drive it down to me and take my trade back.

It's taken these bozos in Missouri so long I've already gotten buyers remorse.

Got the paperwork today and… price was off by $750 and my name was spelled wrong. ANOTHER overnight package with new paperwork incoming.

But I think you're gonna likey…

APT - For my own future info, how does your warranty compare up against the Zeigler Ford warranty?

I think I had an ASC warranty on my tahoe a while back. I believe they wanted to use non-OEM/rebuilt parts on stuff and repair shop said no way and to use legit parts.

Your prior warranty may have wanted to use an aftermarket part for an AC item or perhaps a door lock actuator. I am not aware of aftermarket engines, sunroofs, navigation systems , and transmissions.

ASC covers everything except normal wear and tear like tires, wiper blades, brakes, shocks, upholstery…

I think there's plenty of value in an ASC product but if paying 2X to get that OEM door actuator is important then it is what it is.

keep in mind the ford ESP's year coverage starts from the "in-service date" which I think is just your purchase date. So don't overbuy on years if you are going to hit a mileage limitation. If you drive 20k a year you are going to be overpaying for a 7 year because you cap out in 5. Right now I'm averaging over 20k a year on my F150, but obviously YMMV.

Also you can buy Ford ESP's in the future. you don't have to buy right now while under a 3/36. I bought my last ford plan at 35,500. sure prices go up, but I had a better idea of mileage usage and got a better of what kind of coverage I wanted.

I do about 12k a year... so I'm looking at a 7/100 maybe - even an 8/100

You can get Ford ESP up to 175k miles.
